Why? Why these plastic labels again when buying bananas? Now I'm being forced again to buy as many bananas as there are in a bunch.
Not so long ago, everyone could choose the quantity themselves, weigh it and put a thin sticky label on it.

Here in Uster, we had the opportunity to weigh the bananas ourselves for a very long time. Suddenly it was stopped.
The organic bananas are and have always been attached to the plastic hook with a fixed price and weight. With conventional bananas, you could or can determine the quantity or weight yourself. This was or is possible in the larger stores. Probably too much individual and damaged fruit that nobody wants to buy anymore, so a loss for Migros.
Hello everyone, thank you very much for your contributions. We have been offering organic bananas with these plastic tags for years. We have now carried out a test with embroidered organic banana lots in two cooperatives, which lasted from week 38 2018 to week 14 2019 in 15 sales outlets in the Zurich cooperative. We then switched back to the label and are now evaluating the test results to decide whether or not we will offer organic banana lots without labels across the board in future. Now I just have to hope that the bananas can be bought loose again as soon as possible. In the meantime, I will buy them at Alnatura, without plastic tags and as many as I need. And if Migros is clever, they will set up a department with only organic fruit and vegetables and offer all products, as well as the conventional ones, openly :-)

I could hardly believe my eyes today. An elderly gentleman took 2 bananas from the organic bananas, which are still marked with the plastic tag, and put the rest back down. He went to the scales, typed in 190 for bananas and stuck the label on the bananas.
Why was this scale number not stopped? Why are the organic bananas on the carousel still labeled that 1 kilo costs 3.- and the scale number is 190?
Somehow the whole thing is strange. Knowing that many people may be paying far too much for bananas because everyone can "pick" a few without hindrance.

If you are afraid that someone has already helped themselves to your banana ration, you can put it on the scales to check it.
@ Cinderella: Your comment shows how useless these labels are if I have to stick a label from the scales over them in case of deviations. If I already have to do a follow-up check, I really don't need the plastic stuff.
