Balea in the CH- Alnatura did the same ;)

Balea in der CH- Bei Alnatura gings ja auch! ;)

After an extensive purchase of the balea brand in the DM, I was puzzled several times when I saw that these ingenious products are produced in Switzerland (Mibelle subsidiary of Migros) So I came to the question: Dear Migros, why won't Balea be available in Switzerland in the future? Let's take each other by the hand until now we have Müller but the selection there is boring. Balea offers top products, great design, great fragrances and great offers where no other market can keep up. Has anyone ever seen so many special fragrances in Switzerland? No! everything is boring in Migros, Coop and co. nothing special, always the same. Why not give such a chain the chance to establish itself in the Migros range? Sure, the production costs are lower if you produce for abroad, but honestly? Why can't this product be sold for 1.70 instead of 1.05 (90 cents)? A profit of 65 centimes per unit and a net profit of 50 centimes (source an old article) is 1.15 net profit? I would find it exciting if Migros were to set up such a range and by that I don't mean I am but Balea or this I am range would be extremely expanded to include Balea quality but it would then be called something else but still have so much choice. Why not something different? Then the Swiss will stay and buy here instead of in Germany.

Because dear Mirgros, your subsidiary's products are simply first class! And with Alnatura you're only addressing a certain target group and you've managed to bring them here, haven't you?)

Hello Janne

Thank you for your message. I would be happy to clarify with the product range managers whether there is the possibility of building up a Balea range. They can tell me the reasons for or against it.

Kind regards

Tanja

I go to Germany every 6 months to buy Balea shampoos in bulk. These are the most ingenious hair products I've ever had and all without silicones.

I was also puzzled by the fact that Balea produces in Switzerland but is nowhere to be found here.

Conclusion: I would very much welcome it if Balea products were even available in Migros in Switzerland.

There is a very simple reason why Balea is not available anywhere in Switzerland: Balea is not a brand like Nivea or Garnier, but a private label of the drugstore chain dm - just as I AM is a Migros private label.

dm has no interest in entering the Swiss market.

Not all Balea products are manufactured in Switzerland; there are various manufacturers.

Hello everyone

daniel.hager is right: the Balea products really are a DM own brand that we cannot include in our range - just as DM, for example, could not include our I am products in its range.

There is also the following to consider: Migros is not a drugstore. Migros' focus is clearly on food and fresh products. It is therefore not possible for us - especially in smaller stores - to offer the breadth of product range of a drugstore.

Nevertheless, with our own brands I am, Fanjo and Esthetic, we try to offer as many product variants as possible and create a range that is as varied as possible.

I hope you can understand this and understand that we cannot include the Balea products in our range.

Kind regards
Tanja

It has long been clear that it is DM's own brand. But since the Migros subsidiary also manufactures products, you could expand I am. ;) In the direction of Balea. Of course they don't offer everything everywhere, but there are plenty of big MMM stores...

And Migros is considered a shopping market, yes, fresh products + food are the focus, but if you look at it that way, you could offer the drugstore competition with a wide selection, which would also generate sales from Migros' point of view, wouldn't it? :/

Hello Tanja
I think it's a great pity that you are not competitive. I buy Migros quality in Germany. The Balea 3 in 1 costs me the equivalent of 65 centimes (300ml) I can't find anything like it at this price in Switzerland. Now I will do more of my shopping in Germany.

Please don't give me the excuse that wages are getting lower abroad. It is produced in Switzerland, at our wages, so it should also be possible in Switzerland, shouldn't it?

Yes, Migros is not a drugstore. Migros' clear focus on food and fresh products is only partly true. After all, Migros wants to be the price-performance leader. (PLF) This is why consumers have not been able to find their products in recent years because they have been delisted or the names of the product lines have been combined. (Iam is the best example)

Thanks to the low euro exchange rate, Migros has to remain competitive not only in Switzerland but also abroad. Let's see if it succeeds. As you can see from the forum, some are increasingly going to Germany.

I agree with you Paddymaurer, but I also think (as a price-sensitive customer) that 0.65Fr for a shampoo will hardly work.

In my opinion, the Bellena line should be more upbeat, more cult.... the red and white line is just boring in my opinion. And hardly any customers are likely to perceive it as a cheap line in the cosmetics sector.
Then you don't have to be surprised when the products are discontinued... but would certainly be successful in the M-Budget range....
The many HSG graduates that you are looking for in many job descriptions are of no use to you. Rather, you should also listen to the employees in the stores, who know what pleases or annoys us customers the most.

If you look at the Balea line (and a lot but not everything), you'll see that Mibelle produces ..... The many exotic fragrances can hardly be found in the M-Budget, Bellena, I am range...., which is a very big minus...

And finally, you should listen to the many customer feedbacks and wishes on Migipedia, and not keep launching pointless products for which other favorite products are at risk of being discontinued....

Exactly as Janne says, I really miss the goods in Switzerland

I agree with you: Balea care products are just as good as Alverde care products. Let's hope DM comes to Switzerland.

Here's one more vote. Balea is so incredibly popular. Bring it on.
