I can't quite imagine that with certain products....
and it's also possible that they have introduced or already have another similar product for it that I haven't discovered yet and is perhaps better. I would like to know about an alternative.
one last reason: there is of course the hope that if several people want an item again, it will be reintroduced.

Some time ago I noticed how the normal milk drink was taken off the shelf for 1.40, then a few weeks later there was meadow milk for 1.50 (in between there was only expensive milk to buy).
And then a few more weeks later there was the "permanently reduced price" message, when the milk cost 1.40 again. That's one way to do it... Tell people the price has been lowered....

I've recently been missing the "Vegetarian Schnitzel" from the M-Budget range. It was our favorite "Cornatur" product. And we have not yet discovered a replacement product.
Are some products actually only removed from the range at one store location, in one region or always throughout Switzerland?

@bachme: Thank you for your feedback on Wiesenmilch and the milk drink. Can you tell me which region / store you shop in? Then I can clarify exactly what happened. According to the product manager, the problem cannot otherwise be traced exactly.

I'm already looking into your request. I'm sorry that one of your favorite products is no longer in the range.
All of the variants you mentioned occur in the case of product discontinuations or new product launches. The cooperatives (regions) act autonomously, i.e. they can decide for themselves whether or not to include some of the products in their range. This also allows them to use the space on the shelves for products in the "From the region, for the region" range. Sometimes there are products that are not doing so well throughout Switzerland or are no longer produced - these are then removed from the range everywhere.

The "problem" is not that bad. I just find it silly when they advertise "permanently lower prices" when the price is actually increased beforehand and then lowered again afterwards. Whether the milk is freshly pressed from the meadow or still comes from the same cows remains to be seen. The fact is that it was simply a case of new packaging...
Incidentally, this was in Migros Aare...

The product manager has confirmed to me that we are currently looking for alternatives to the vegan M-Budget schnitzel. As I suspected, it had to be removed from the range due to insufficient demand.
