Hello Kristal54
Thank you for your message. I apologize for the late reply.
All Famigros content and offers are geared towards the needs of families. Membership is therefore primarily useful for families.
The Cumulus program also offers regular discounts on all Migros product ranges for singles and childless couples. So you will not miss out at all.
Best regards

Dear Daniel
Kristal54 is right: Coop's "Hello Family Club" is also primarily aimed at families, but singles are not excluded from the offer. And since Famigros is obviously the Migros imitation of the Coop Club, it's annoying to be excluded from such an offer because you don't have children. I noticed this weeks ago when I first found out about Famigros. I hadn't commented on Famigros before, but now that I've read that Famigros members receive ten times Cumulus points every Wednesday - at least during the introductory phase - I've been sick to my stomach. Because for socially disadvantaged people, e.g. welfare recipients, there have never been tenfold Cumulus points. And now that the Migros Cooperative Zurich has closed its two treasure troves, it can be assumed that there will continue to be no Migros offer for such people - unless you are a family. Because families are always and everywhere given preferential treatment.
Why is that?
...is there no corresponding Famigros Club for the socially disadvantaged at Migros?
...are families always given preferential treatment everywhere?

I feel exactly the same as Mathomas, I was really annoyed that only members of Famigros benefit from 10x Cumulus points on Wednesdays. Every good Migros customer (and I count myself among them) who doesn't have a family feels completely offended. In my eyes, this is social bullying!
As Mathomas has already mentioned, there are many socially disadvantaged people of all ages in "rich" Switzerland who do not meet the requirements for joining the Famigros Club. So Migros should no longer be surprised that it is losing many customers to suppliers from neighboring countries to the north who are expanding in Switzerland. I am in no way a friend of these stores, but they have one thing over Migros and Coop: all customers are treated equally, whether they are single, couples, families or pensioners!!!

Pensioners receive a discount/cumulus points every Tuesday at Migros Aargau.
I have a Famigros card and never do my bulk shopping on Wednesdays because the kids have the day off. That's why I don't use the points, but my kids don't have to get bored shopping.
i think families should be supported and migros is doing this in its own way (10x cumulus is "only" valid until may!)!
children cost a lot these days, you have to pay tax on child allowances and lots of other things!
why don't you give something to the others instead of always complaining!
I think it's great that families can benefit and I don't want to nag about it.
But I share the opinion of Kristal54, Mathomas and, above all, Data. It's not acceptable that only one group of people can benefit so explicitly from 10 x Cumulus points across the entire range. Then you also have to introduce "Single Days", "Pensioners Club" and "Pet Friends" and so on. Everyone then participates where they want ... I'm a "Migros kid" and I also feel quite offended by this family club.
Or just treat everyone the same: if you collect a lot of points, you can benefit a lot. A level playing field for everyone. And families automatically collect more points through their bulk purchases - so they get more out of it. Even without a club.
I would like to join Marianne and the others. Migros systematically discriminates against single people; the pack sizes alone are usually far too big for singles. And the stupid promotions with 10 pairs of Wienerli or 20 Cervelats are only interesting for large families. Maybe that's how families are compensated for having to put up with some stupid collection campaign for the little ones every few weeks?
A little more "sacrificial symmetry" would certainly not be a luxury.

I am not fundamentally against famigros.
But I have to say that I'm still a bit disappointed. Not everyone is allowed to have a family, for whatever reason, and the fact that as a single person or childless couple you are often seen as a cash cow has often bothered me. But I think it's a shame that Migros is now jumping on this bandwagon.
Of course a family costs money, BUT there are also people who are alone or have no children who have to watch their money.
If there is already such a "club", then please offer them items that a family needs, such as bulk packs etc. and not 10x Cumulus.
As a small family, you're already punished: multiple packs are usually a lot cheaper than the ones I have to resort to. You can't freeze everything! And now I can't even "score" these expensive packs well. I feel like shit.

I think it's great that there are finally benefits and offers for families. Most families have to watch their budget. And have more than one diner at the table. I think it's a great offer
