Patriotic or not?
Mythological or historical?
It doesn't really matter.
The founding of our country, or more precisely the eternal alliance of 1291, is being celebrated for the
724 times!?
No matter how you spend this day, whether at brunch on a farm (great thing), with friends in the garden or at the lake, with the family, etc...
To all users and the Migipedia team a super nice and great
federal celebration!

@Imperator
and all other users, yes, enjoy the free time, the federal holiday and have a good time with delicious food, we grill, a glass of red wine, preferably from the region (Goffersberg or Burghaldengut) and in great company.
Congratulations to Switzerland and its inhabitants!

My LAG's favorite holiday. Not just because of the patriotism (I personally thank God every day that my butt was born here), but also because it gets to make things explode.
We'll probably celebrate with raclette and Thunders this year.
Happy August 1st to you all!
Have a nice day everyone!
On August 1st, I particularly like the 1st Augustweggen and therefore eat my way through the various stores and bakeries ?

So we go to an Italian restaurant with friends and don't celebrate August 1st. I don't like the banging and the smell in the air at all. All the money that is spent, oh dear, what you could do/donate etc. for it. But everyone as he/she likes.
Have a nice day everyone, no matter how you spend it.

hello @Frederica
yes, that's right, the Goffersberg is produced by the JVA and in my opinion is a really good light wine.
The Burghaldengut is the castle wine from Lenzburg, which we also have in our cellar.
Cheers and all the best

@soup plate
Great idea, I also prefer the fine food on August 1st than the firecrackers.
En Guete!
@suppenteller, @Engel63,
who doesn't like a good meal?!??
I was with my mother at a 1st August brunch in the Bündner Herrschaft.
At a wine grower in Maienfeld!
We just got back two hours ago.
It was just great!!?
And because of the weather, we'll be having raclette in the evening!
But we've also had Chinese food before, why not?!??
But we're usually at home by dusk.
But we have also been to a bonfire (Höhenfeuer).
@moz79
I also love fireworks!
But not the Thunder, more the colorful, beautiful fireworks.
They do go off too, just not as loudly (most of them at least).
@Imperator
Great, August 1st brunch, didn't you have any rain? It rained quite a bit until about 11:00 am in Aargau.
Maienfeld, there is the super tasty Maienfeld wine, mmmhhhmmm, delicious.
It's nice that you do so much with your mother, it's more fun together anyway.
?
So I wish you a wonderful raclette dinner and a good view of a wonderful, colorful and not too loud firework display in the sky.
Enjoy it ?
Hello engel63
thank you for your answer-?
Oh, it poured like a bucket the whole way.?
But when we arrived in Maienfeld, shortly after 9.00 a.m., the rain slowly subsided and later even stopped.?
It was cool, but not so cool that you really needed a jacket, but it was great in the barn and under the Bergola.
Yes, the farm has fine wine!
The price included a glass of wine and a short tour of the wine cellar.
Very interesting!?
I will order a few bottles! As soon as the purchased ones have been enjoyed.
Have a nice day/evening too.
Ps. I also have a small part of the fireworks in my own hands?
