The ratings for the various fish products were actually all deleted by the site administrators! Migros therefore likes to advertise that the range is 100% SUSTAINABLE and also uses the WWF ratings as a yardstick to classify the fish accordingly. But does not allow any ratings on Migipedia with its content! Is it not allowed to mention in a rating that about 3 kg of wild fish are needed for 1 kg of farmed fish? Probably not, because otherwise someone might think that farmed fish are exploiting the oceans even more than before!

What I actually wanted to ask: What and how much is fed to these trout here, from Swiss breeding, per kg of slaughtered and gutted fish and where does the feed come from and in what kind of breeding system is it fattened?

Hoi ivan92, in order for us to clarify your question, we would need to know in which store you buy the trout, as this is a regional product. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Hello guest Thank you for your inquiry regarding the trout, which we have forwarded to the supplier. We have received the following feedback: Conventional fish farming: It takes about 1 kg of feed to produce 1 kg of trout (live weight) The feed comes from France and consists of flour and fish oil (about 25% from sustainable fishing) (soybean meal, wheat, corn, vegetable oil, vitamins and minerals).
Our two conventional farms are supplied with spring water, which only crosses the fish farm once. It is then filtered and treated before flowing into the water. Organic fish farming: It takes about 1.3 kg of feed to produce 1 kg of trout (live weight). The Swiss and German feed consists of the same ingredients, except that it is of organic origin and consists of different proportions compared to the conventional feed. This feed has much less fat (15% compared to 25 to 30% conventional feed). The percentage of organic fish meal and fish oil is much higher: 60 to 65%. This organic fish farm is open cycle and the waste water is recycled with filtration and waste treatment. We hope this information is helpful. All the best for 2017, best wishes from your M-Infoline team Your M-Infoline team

As a trout lover, I am extremely disappointed with the marinated version: it is simply inedible. Soaked full of marinade, soggy and so salty that you can hardly eat it. For heaven's sake, change the marinade recipe!!!
The trout nature, on the other hand, is wonderful: always fresh, cleanly gutted and very tasty.
