Robust quality
I used to have the fix-o-moll glides made in Germany, the felt was soft and pleasant to the touch, it hardly made any noise on the parquet. Now these glides are made in China, the "felt" is very hard, sharp at the edge and it makes an unpleasant noise when "gliding", or it would be more appropriate to say "rubbing". The old glides were still made of wool felt, these seem to be made of plastic. I would never buy them again. Wouldn't know of a sensible alternative either. What a pity. I bought them in 2 sizes: 20mm and 24mm. Oh well, the metal frame also looks quite cheap when new, seems to be just plain sheet metal now, the old ones were still nicely chrome-plated, looked very valuable back then. I'll write to fix-o-moll and ask them a few questions.
Not only top in terms of price, but also in terms of design. They are the best I have found so far. I have now fitted 10 chairs with them.
I have replaced these parquet glides on my dining chairs and am very satisfied.
Pre-drilling may be necessary, but top felts will not warp and the screw will certainly not push through and scratch the floor.
Rather hard felt, should be a little softer
Good product
