Were the edamame washed before freezing? During cooking, a gray foam developed on the surface, which left a dark rim on the pan after straining! Never happened with the "non-Swiss"!

Due to the longer vegetation period, whereby the edamame had to grow longer, injuries to the skin of the fruit can occur (russeting). This can lead to foaming and discoloration of the pan.
