Why don't asparagus have a harvest date?
Hello Mühe, thank you for your inquiry.
At Migros, we generally date unprocessed fruits and vegetables of Swiss origin with a “packed on” date. This approach is supported by consumer organizations and also meets the legal requirement for full traceability.
With a few exceptions, we do not print a “packed on” date on unprocessed products that we import from abroad. However, this rule does include exceptions. These are:
- For fruits and vegetables that have been peeled, cut, or similarly processed, the law requires a best-by date (for example, peeled onions, pumpkin slices, etc.). In these cases, a “best-by” date is provided.
- For items that must be stored refrigerated (such as sprouts, sliced mushrooms, etc.), the law requires a use-by date. In these cases, Migros also labels the products with a “use by” date.
As a general rule: Our store staff checks the freshness of the products, regardless of the type of date labeling. Whether a fruit or vegetable is still fresh can also be easily determined by its appearance and taste. Best regards, your M-Infoline Team

Why is there a picture of German asparagus in Migros Online but under the origin it says "Spain / Hungary / Italy"?
