How high is the caffeine content after the decaf process?

Our coffee is decaffeinated using the DCM process (dichloromethane). In this process, the dichloromethane is completely removed after the caffeine has been extracted. The coffee is then thoroughly checked for caffeine and other residual products to ensure that the legal maximum values are adhered to. The maximum residual caffeine content is 0.1%.

See below: Zaun coffees are decaffeinated using the DCM (dichloromethane) process. We understand your concerns about the carcinogenic effects of dichloromethane. We would therefore like to provide you with further information.
DCM is suspected of being carcinogenic. It is not classified as acutely toxic.
The process of decaffeinating coffee beans using DCM is carried out by a company in Germany. We visited the production facility ourselves and were convinced that the process is carried out in accordance with current environmental and occupational safety regulations. After decaffeination, the DCM is removed from the beans, recovered and cleaned. The beans are tested for caffeine content and DCM residue. The limit value is less than 2 mg / kg. This value is set so that no expected side effects occur. In addition, a safety factor is included in each case, which should also cover high consumption.

Thank you for your reply, but I am not happy about this and will not be buying any more coffee from "Zaun" in future. I am very surprised that Migros has such products in its range. I assume that this coffee is not toxic, but I have switched to decaffeinated coffee because of my health and do not want to damage it again.

Why is the decaffeination process not communicated transparently here?!!! Decaffeination with solvents is suspected of being carcinogenic - dichloromethane - ethyl acetate without solvents - Swiss water process - CO2 process - solvent-free There can't be any talk of it being 100% natural?!! Hello, Most decaffeinated products are made by extracting the caffeine with chemical solvents. Is this the case with Zaun? In this case, it would be toxic to health. Thank you Didier Mony.

The green coffee is first tested by the manufacturer and then also by us in the incoming goods department. After decaffeination, the caffeine content and residual solvent content of each batch is also analyzed.
