Does it contain sugar and/or wheat? How high is the meat content?
Hello Maria9490, the content of meat and animal by-products is declared on the packaging under composition and is 22%. The declaration takes into account the sauce in the recipe. However, the meat content in the pieces is much higher - around 80 %. The pieces consist of high-quality meat materials, vitamins and minerals as well as a small amount of cereals to achieve the desired product texture.
We use very small amounts (well below 1%) of sugar as an ingredient in Exelcat complete feeds. The addition of sugars in our recipes serves to round off the taste of the product. During the heating process, the sugar reacts with the protein components (amino acids) of the raw materials it contains. This creates the roasted aromas that we are familiar with from our own cooking experience (e.g. when frying). After this so-called Maillard reaction, the added sugar in the product is almost completely used up, so that only very small traces remain in the end product. The addition of this minimal amount of sugar has no effect on health, as it does not cause dental problems or other diseases such as diabetes mellitus. Best regards, your M-Infoline team
