Hello Migros How so the MIGROS sells in the small stores the good old Einmalzin no longer 500 g and 1.kg only Ovo Orginal pity that ☹️ now I always have to drive to a MM or MMM Gruss Urs 28
The small stores sell the unnecessary branded products. Own brands are only available in the large stores 🤷♀️
Hello Urs28, thank you very much for your contribution. We are sorry that Eimalzine is only available in larger stores in your area. In principle, Eimalzine is listed in many stores. However, as space on our shelves is limited, we have to check very carefully which products we offer where. Best regards, your M-Infoline team
Hello! As I always have a small supply, I only became aware of this fact today when I went to redeem my "Cumulus voucher" (dated 13.10.22) at MM 9630 Wattwil. THE EIMALZIN (e.g. 500g) IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE THERE. Isn't that a disgrace? I've been buying it regularly for decades. Now it's only supposed to be available in distant MMM. What desk strategist decided such a NONSENSE? This is a completely hassle-free item that takes up very little space. When I look at the shelves of "my" MM, there are hundreds of non-traditional junk products that I (and many others) don't need and wouldn't buy. On the other hand, everyday items are being rationalized away and replaced in this example by the super-sweet "OVO", which I could also get anywhere else. If your founder knew that, he would probably be spinning in his grave. After all, he was always mischievously proud of this copycat product with the Germanized name. I can only shake my head at so much ignorance on the part of the irresponsible. :-(
Hello Martin52, thank you for your detailed letter. In view of your description, we understand your displeasure. As you know from our reply above, we only offer the product in larger and selected stores. So that your trip to the supermarket is not in vain in future, we recommend that you check the stocks via this link. If you have specific questions about the allocation of Cumulus vouchers, you can find the contact details here. We hope this information is helpful to you. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Dear M-Team I seem to have got the last pack of 'Eimalzin Portions' today. Has this really been removed from the range? That would be a shame! The 1/2 kilo pack is simply too big for a single person - it doesn't stay fresh. Please reintroduce it (Ovo is no substitute).
Hello mmd, thank you for your message. Unfortunately, we no longer have the single portions in our range. Once opened, it is best to keep the bag well sealed and protected from light, for example in a storage tin. Most spoilage reactions can be seen or tasted. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Dear M-Team
I think it's very good that you don't use whey (powder) for this product, because it is also edible for vegetarians thanks to the absence of (animal) rennet.
Question:
However, would it perhaps be possible to use organic eggs? (Not barn egg powder!)
This would also allow you to obtain the emulsifier from egg yolk instead of using soy lecithin.
This would allow you to reach a wider range of (male) customers, e.g. those who do weight training etc..
This is because soy contains phytoestrogens, which have an anti-androgen effect and are generally avoided for this reason.
The idea:
If you want to reach a very wide range of customers you could also use a similar product:
- High quality (e.g. not barn-raised or mass-produced)
- without soy
- with the same amount of vitamins & minerals
- high protein content (with BCAA)
- and low fat/carbo
can be produced for vegans
This product would be kosher, halal and also edible for vegans.
Just an idea that many athletes would welcome.
Because there is no product that covers the essential micronutrients & BCAA at the same time and is safe to consume.
Kind regards Vazucca
Hello Vazucca
Thank you very much for your suggestion, which we are happy to take on board.
There are no plans to switch to organic eggs. Barn eggs actually enjoy a good reputation. At Migros, the guidelines for barn eggs even go beyond the legal requirements, meaning that a winter garden must also be provided for the hens. You can find more information at

We hope this has been helpful and wish you a nice, sunny day.

Thank you very much for this detailed answer, I have read this before and don't want to be a peta activist or anything, but in my opinion and experience 10 chickens/m2 is too much, and not a living condition, besides it is also about how these chickens are fed etc..
Nevertheless, thank you for the suggestion that you have taken note of.
I agree @Gast. And @M-Infoline: As Ovomaltine proves, you can do it without eggs! Ovo has changed its recipe specifically because of customer reactions with egg allergies and has not used eggs since 2014. We think that's good. Migros should follow suit, please. Kind regards, "Twilight"

Egg malt without egg? Egg maltzine!
@Twilight
As far as I know, Ovomaltine is still made with egg.
Unfortunately, Ovo has whey in it, which many vegetarians and Torah-observant Christians/Jews do not eat because of the animal rennet.
Therefore, I personally find egg maltine much better because of the higher number of vitamins/minerals and the absence of rennet.
But there is OVALTINE, which is produced without egg and without whey. something like that would be interesting as a variant.
Kind regards Vazucca
@Gast: What's the problem, then just rename Migros to Malzin or something ;-).

In Switzerland, organic eggs account for around 10% of total production. These eggs are sold as shell eggs and are not processed. In short, there are currently not enough organic eggs available on the market to convert processed products such as egg wash to organic.
Animal welfare is very important to Migros. As Switzerland's largest buyer of label products, we have made a significant contribution to improving animal welfare in recent years. As an example, Migros also demands more from its suppliers with barn and free-range farming than the legal requirements in Switzerland demand. For example, every farm that produces eggs for Migros has a winter garden (fresh air) with raised seating and a dust bath. This allows the animals to live out their natural behavior.
From Migros' point of view, it is important to work towards greater animal welfare not only in the area of niche production, such as organic, but also in the area of large delivery volumes. With additional measures such as winter gardens in floor and free-range systems, we have been able to achieve a significant improvement in husbandry conditions for a very large number of chickens. Our specialists will continue to work on further developing these standards for the benefit of the animals.
We hope that this helps you and send you our best regards from the M-Infoline team

@M-Infoline
Firstly, I apologize if I sound snooty, rather my goal is to provide constructive criticism.
I very much appreciate your stricter measures.
But as you advertise your "animal-friendly" floor housing for the 2nd time, I have to repeat myself:
1. keeping 10 chickens on 1m2 is (from experience) not at all something natural or species-appropriate, no matter how you spin it.
2. despite the little attention paid to animal welfare, (for the sake of comprehensibility) it is, as always, all about profit and not about the health of the buyer. (e.g.: >Organic eggs Omega3 content)
3. as I read, the competition has already made progress.
It would be possible to introduce this innovative idea of organic (raw) products into production.
But as I said, it's just an idea and nobody wants to attack it.
Dear guest
We welcome constructive criticism. It always gives us pointers on how we can further improve our products. That's why we also take your ideas on board and review them. The maximum number of chickens that can be kept is based on the Animal Welfare Act. Experts who are familiar with animal welfare and know what requirements are necessary for the animals to live healthily have been involved in this. After all, animal husbandry is always a balancing act between what is desirable and what is feasible. Of course, we are also concerned with profit. Because only if we can sell our products successfully will we have sufficient funds to campaign for better animal husbandry conditions, for example. We estimate that the higher omega-3 content of organic eggs in such a highly processed product as Eimalzin has hardly any relevant effect on the health of our customers.
We hope for your understanding and wish you all the best from the M-Infoline team.

Since the start of fresh packaging, I have the feeling that the taste has changed.
Has the recipe actually been changed?
Dear donkey family
Thank you very much for your comment. The recipe has been the same for years.
However, we would like to check whether something may have been wrong with the production batch.
May we ask you to provide us with the best-before date and batch number (usually starts with L or it is a mixture of numbers and letters)?
Thank you for your feedback and have a nice week.
Best regards

Dear Esselfamily
Thank you for the requested information.
The retained samples have been checked. They were all in order and met the specifications.
Unfortunately, we cannot explain the difference in taste.
We are sorry not to be able to help you further, but wish you a happy Advent season.

Hello guest
Thank you very much for your inquiry.
We have forwarded your message to our supplier. Unfortunately, it is not possible for him to provide you with empty Eimalzin cans. In addition, the Eimalzin cans only have a diameter of about 10 cm.
We regret not being able to give you a positive answer but wish you every success at the Youth Festival. Your M-Infoline Team

Why are Eimalzine and the like only available in sachets? I would appreciate it if it were also sold in tins. Now I'm forced to put the Eimalzine or Vitalzine or something else in an Ovaltine tin.
Hello Karl E.
We have forwarded your suggestion to our specialist department and they will take it into consideration for the next product range revision whenever possible.
