Hello. The chanterelles are delicious. However, as they come from Belarus, I wonder whether it has been clarified and how Migros can guarantee that they do not come from an area affected by the Tchernobyl fallout. Thank you very much!
Hello Hellblau8005, thank you for your question. Chanterelles are wild mushrooms - they are therefore unsuitable for cultivation. The forests in Eastern Europe provide a very good area for these mushrooms to grow. Internal and external bodies (federal government) subject these edible mushrooms to risk-based analyses for radioactivity. We are happy to confirm that they are safe to eat. So far, we have not been able to detect any signs of increased measured values. We are aware of the issue and therefore analyze the relevant products more frequently to ensure product safety. Best regards, your M-Infoline team
In Jenke's program it was pointed out that chanterelles from Russia and Poland are still heavily contaminated. 🧐 😭
Hello FloBeri, we can well understand your concerns. The mushrooms are wild mushrooms - so they are unsuitable for cultivation. The forests in Eastern Europe provide a very good area for these mushrooms to grow. We are constantly on the lookout for new possible origins - there are currently no alternatives that can keep up in terms of quality and quantity. Internal and external bodies (federal government) subject these edible mushrooms to risk-based analyses for radioactivity. We confirm that they are safe to eat.
