Why are oranges and lemons stored in the refrigerator? They get moldy extremely quickly! After shopping the next day, at least 2 out of 4 are already white😡 This is an old rule that citrus fruits do not belong in refrigerators, was also explained to customers in the Migros magazine! So why doesn't Migros itself adhere to this?

Therefore, when storing them in the fridge, make sure that you put them in the fruit and vegetable compartment. The temperature there is normally 8-10 °C, which is also suitable for citrus fruits. Furthermore, storage in the refrigerator does not cause fungal infestation. Demeter lemons are untreated, which is why they are more prone to mold growth than treated products.
