Transporting one kilogram of cheese by truck from the Parma region to the Migros distribution center in Switzerland (approx. 450 km) generates 0.03 kg CO2eq. This accounts for 0.5 % of total emissions. As we round the values on the website to the digit before the point, the proportion is shown as 0 %. Dear Matthias, Parmigiano Reggiano is protected by the DOP seal. This means that this cheese may only be produced in the Italian provinces of Parma, Reggio Emilia, Modena, Bologna and parts of Mantua with cow's milk from these regions. Best regards, your M-Infoline team
