For some time now, I have noticed that the structure of grated Grana Padano has changed. Unfortunately for the worse! The cheese crumbles, sticks together to form lumps or larger. The texture has become coarser and larger. It also no longer melts the same way on hot dishes. Why is this the case and does it have to be? It was perfect before and it really bothers me! I have been buying 1-2 250g bags of it at least once a week for a long time and would like to continue doing so when the cheese is finely grated again and no longer as crumbly as described! Please rectify this immediately. Thank you very much.
Hello PROLiX, thank you for your feedback. Our specialist department reports that we have been increasing the grain size for a few weeks as a result of market research. The recipe with a larger grain size convinced more customers in the survey. The cheese is still the same. I have passed on your feedback to our marketing department. Since the redesign of the brand, the packaging is almost impossible to open. The tear-off tab is placed far too close to the resealable closure. If you tear off the tab, you can hardly open the closure with your fingers because there is no plastic to grip. Can this be optimized again, dear Migros?
Hello savulter, thank you for your message. We appreciate you drawing our attention to optimizations. We will be happy to follow up on your tip. To enable us to trace the manufacturing process precisely, we would ask you to send us the best-before date and the batch number (a combination of numbers and letters) of a pack. If you like, you can also upload pictures of the bag showing the information here. Thank you in advance for your support. Best regards, your M-Infoline team
M3L23117 08.04.23 (don't worry - it was in the freezer ;-)) But since the brand change, this affects all batches and not just this one.
Hello savulter, thank you very much for the data and the photo. We really appreciate your help. We are happy to inform you that our investigations are still ongoing. We will get back to you as soon as we receive a reply from the supplier. Best regards, your M-Infoline team
Hello savulter, thank you again for the message and for your patience. In the meantime, the manufacturer has been able to check various retained samples and has not found any deviations. However, we are keeping an eye on this issue and will make any necessary optimizations. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Unfortunately, there are hard pieces of rind in the pack... I haven't noticed anything else, let's hope it remains the exception. Or is that how it should be?
Hello KarinW, thank you for your comment. We will be happy to check this. Can you please give us the best-before date and the lot number next to it? Many thanks in advance and best regards, your M-Infoline team

Hello KarinW, thank you for the information. The regularity of the grating process is constantly monitored by our supplier. We checked reference samples and found no deviations - the cheese was the specified size. However, we are keeping an eye on this. Please check your emails later and we will contact you again privately. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

I would like more information on the compatibility of grated Grana Padano for people with zoeliac disease. Are these cheeses produced together with products that contain gluten and could there therefore be carry-over? Or is cross-contamination ruled out?
Hello PatrickHA, the same applies to grated Grana Padano: the product must not contain any gluten-containing ingredients and any carry-over must not be expected. If a product contains gluten-containing ingredients, this must be openly declared, stating the gluten-containing grains (wheat, spelt, rye, barley, etc.). In addition, gluten-containing ingredients must be highlighted in the list of ingredients, for example in bold print or with capital letters (examples: wheat starch, WHEAT flour). Therefore: Pay attention to the list of ingredients! Traces due to possible carry-over in the manufacturing process must be indicated at the end of the list of ingredients with a "may contain" note ("may contain gluten" or "may contain traces of gluten"). Hello, is this product suitable for pregnant women? It is not indicated if the milk is pasteurized. It is indicated raw milk but the cheese is cooked? Thank you in advance.
Hello KaCoMu, to protect yourself against the risk of listeria infection, you should refrain from eating soft or semi-hard cheeses made from raw or pasteurized milk throughout your pregnancy. Hard and extra-hard cheeses made from raw (e.g. Grana Padano) or pasteurized milk can be eaten without risk, but only after the rind has been removed. Mozzarella and fromage frais made from pasteurized milk are also safe to eat, as is processed cheese. The same applies to fondue and other melted or heated cheeses (raclette, cheese for gratinating, etc.). With kindest regards, your M-Infoline team

This has been our favorite grated cheese for years. For about 4 weeks now, the grated cheese has had a strange aftertaste. Like mold, but nothing is visible. I have tested various packs and it doesn't affect every pack. Has anything been changed?
Hello MaBo10, thank you for your question. We're sorry that your Parmesan keeps smelling unpleasant. Do you still have one of these packs and can you give us the consumption data and production number? Then we can check the production records. Thank you for your help and best regards, your M-Infoline team
Not sure what dates and numbers you need, so here are a few... Sell by 9/9/19 Use by 21/9/19 IL.190701 Barcode: 7 610200 04 1050 If you need other info, just let me know. Thanks a lot!
Hello MaBo10, thank you for your patience. We have checked with the manufacturer. There was no change. His sensory team tested a batch and graded it as compliant. They found no deviations in taste. An examination of the production records also revealed no anomalies. Therefore, the cause is probably due to leaking packaging. The cheese continues to mature due to the influence of oxygen and mold and yeast cultures develop over time, which affect the taste, even if they are not yet visible. The fact that you have already noticed this with several packs is special. In most cases, only a few packs are affected, for example if they have been damaged during transportation. The manufacturer has not received any further feedback, which is why we rule out a general production defect. We hope you have a good experience with your favorite Grana Padano again in the future. Best regards, your M-Infoline team
