Is the E471 in the ingredients vegetarian?
Good morning SimpleeffectJOWA always uses the vegetable/synthetic variant of additives. Only the E 1105 (lysozyme) is of animal origin. This is also declared accordingly: Lysozyme (from chicken egg protein). source: migros.ch additives in food Best regardsFrederica
Hello Simpleeffect, the emulsifier E 471 (mono- and diglycerides of fatty acids) is made from fat building blocks (fatty acids or glycerine). The fat used for its production is usually of vegetable origin (palm kernel oil, rapeseed oil, sunflower oil, soybean oil, etc.). Theoretically, the fat can also be of animal origin (pork and/or beef fat), but this is no longer common. Today, it can be assumed that emulsifiers or other fat-based additives are of vegetable origin. We would like to take this opportunity to draw your attention to the information provided by the nutrition department on the migros.ch homepage under the following link: https://www.migros.ch/de/services/kundendienst/fachstelle-ernaehrung.html. There you will find, among other things, a brochure on the subject of additives, which also contains information on additives of animal origin, gelatine and gelling agents as well as the labelling of products as vegetarian or vegan. Kind regards, your M-Infoline team
