I noticed that the label with the frog of "https://www.rainforest-alliance.org/de/" is now all over Migros chocolate products. I also noticed that https://www.gatesfoundation.org/about/committed-grants/2007/11/opp45625 is supporting/financing this project. Now my question, since Gates is known to "promote" genetically engineered products (lab grown), I would like to know more about this label. When you visit the website it sounds all well and good. But is it really? Do the plants that Migros uses in its products still grow on the earth, in the sun under the open sky? Or has this long been an illusion? How does Migros protect us consumers from "lab grown/made genetically modified food"?
Hello Miggyline, Migros uses labels for sustainable product range design and the Rainforest Alliance is an important partner here. The Rainforest Alliance is an independent non-profit environmental organization and is not owned by a single person, company or foundation. You can find more information about their funding on this website.
The Rainforest Alliance does not certify products, but agricultural crops and ingredients such as cocoa, coffee, bananas and tea. This means that certified farmers adhere to certain social and ecological requirements during cultivation and do not use genetically modified organisms (GMOs). Best regards, your M-Infoline team
Thank you for your reply. However, nice words on the website and nice logos of these partners, and also your reply, unfortunately no longer convince me. How can you even effectively control and credibly communicate to the consumer what these partners "tell" you? https://www.zdf.de/dokumentation/die-spur/bananen-rainforest-alliance-plantagen-pestizide-100.html

Dear Migros, why aren't free-range eggs used for all Créa d'Or products? I like the almond biscuits, but I no longer buy them for this reason (barn eggs). The vanilla pretzels, for example, contain free-range eggs.
Hello Ayla_2, thank you for your inquiry. We understand the desire to offer products that are made exclusively with free-range eggs. Unfortunately, not all consumers are prepared to pay a higher price for this. We try to cover all customer needs. At the same time, we make sure that we can make the best possible contribution to animal welfare. For example, barn eggs meet higher standards than eggs contained in comparable products from abroad. The laying hens live in barns with daylight where they can move freely. We attach great importance to cleanliness and hygiene. We also attach great importance to a facility that complies with regulations and allows the animals to behave naturally. The biscuits from the Tradition and Grand Mère lines contain only free-range eggs. Best regards, your M-Infoline team
