Can clay bowls coated with this gloss varnish be used for food in the kitchen?

We would advise against using the varnish on clay bowls that are intended to come into contact with food. Although the varnish is described as saliva-proof and weatherproof, it contains chemical substances such as isobutyl methacrylate, which can cause allergic reactions and are harmful to aquatic organisms. The paint can also cause drowsiness and dizziness. Due to these properties and its potential health hazards, we consider it unsuitable for direct contact with food.
