Hello Migros Team
Does this chewing gum contain microplastics? If so, do you have chewing gum without microplastics in your range?
What is meant by "polyhydric alcohols"?
Hello Winja27, Candida Dental Gum Black is sweetened with the sugar substitutes sorbitol, isomalt and xylitol instead of sugar. In the language of chemistry, sugar substitutes are called polyhydric alcohols or polyols, and in the declaration of nutritional value they must also be declared under this name in accordance with food law regulations. However, apart from the name and a certain chemical similarity, polyhydric alcohols have nothing to do with the alcohol (ethanol) that we know from alcoholic beverages. In particular, polyhydric alcohols have no intoxicating effect and therefore pose no problem for children or pregnant women. The only disadvantage of sugar substitutes is their laxative effect. This is why you will find the note "may have a laxative effect if consumed in excess" on products made with sugar substitutes.
Kind regards, your M-Infoline team
