PFAS are a group of chemicals consisting of perfluorinated and polyfluorinated alkyl compounds. This includes over 10,000 different compounds.

A publication by the European Chemicals Agency is now causing a major uproar in various industries. The agency wants to ban the manufacture, use and marketing of these substances. In many cases, it is not possible to dispense with all these substances according to the current state of the art. There will therefore be long transitional periods (up to 13 years) in the event of a ban.
