Dear M-Infoline Team Some time ago I bought Bonherba sugar-free sweets, as I often do. Now I have noticed that the sweets have turned white again. They were stored in a dark place at room temperature. The smell and taste are not affected. I would like to know what the reason is. Please find attached a picture. Kind regards atina_2

Hello atina_2, thank you for the photo. We have clarified this. The product is sugar-free and contains maltitol syrup as an ingredient. This raw material is a so-called sugar substitute and is highly hygroscopic. This means that moisture is absorbed very quickly. This process causes the surface of the sweets to crystallize, resulting in this white discoloration. Sugar-free sweets are therefore known to be very susceptible to this whitish discoloration (compared to sweets containing sugar). In addition, the Bonherba herbs without sugar are particularly dark and even a little moisture makes them look dull very quickly (compared to light-colored sweets). Furthermore, the manufacturer produced this batch in August. Unfortunately, it was very warm during this period and the humidity was very high, which made production conditions very difficult. In terms of production technology, however, the manufacturer did everything possible to produce the best possible quality. As you write, this is only a visual defect. The sweets can be consumed without hesitation. your M-Infoline Team

Dear M-Infoline Team The sugar-free Bonherba herbal sweets are very good! Unfortunately, I can no longer find them in my favorite stores. Why is this and when will they be available again? I have also noticed that the sweets are turning white. Kind regards, atina_2

Hello atina_2, thank you very much for your inquiry. First of all, we are pleased that you like the sweets. In view of your description, we understand why you don't want to miss the products. There is currently a delivery interruption. This explains why you can't find them. We expect to be able to offer the items again in about 2 weeks and ask for your patience - it will pay off. You also mention white discoloration. When do these occur? Immediately after opening? If you still have the packaging, please send us the best-before date and the batch number (a combination of numbers and letters). Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Dear M-Infoline Team Thank you very much for your quick reply. But if I have any with white discoloration again, I will contact you. Kind regards and have a nice weekend, atina_2

Grüezi does it have ethanol in it, e.g. for flavors or otherwise? Thank you very much!

Hello fatihoeztuerk, thank you for your question. These sweets contain ethanol - the ethanol content is 0.15 %. In addition, most of the alcohol evaporates during the cooking process. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Why do these sweets turn whitish after a few weeks in open packaging? You don't notice anything in terms of taste, but I would be interested to know the cause.

Hello vim We are sorry that the sugar-free Bonherba herbal sweets suddenly turned white. We would like to investigate the cause. Can you please give us the best-before date and the lot number of your pack? Thank you for your feedback and best regards, your M-Infoline team
