We have been using this Migros Béarnaise sauce for many years and especially love it with beef. For us, it's a feast. After our supplies ran out at the end of 2024 and we bought new bags, we noticed the "optimized recipe" note. Unfortunately, I have to say that the new sauce is not "optimized" at all. Rather, it is a completely different sauce. That is the disadvantage of these private labels. Suddenly it's a completely different product. While the previous sauce had a great color and a typical strong taste, it is now greenish in color and rather neutral/bland in taste. The preparation instructions are also completely different now. And when I compare this new Migros recipe with the same sauce from Knorr, I come to the conclusion that Migros is unfortunately now selling the latter as well. I always had the impression that the old Migros sauce was much, much better. Unfortunately, that is now history and I have to look for other sauces for us. It's such a shame that Migros is simply replacing products that have been tried and tested for decades. After checking, we found out that the manufacturer is still the same Swiss company. At Migros' request, the recipe has been changed to "more natural". I guess without glutamate and all that. Everything has advantages and disadvantages. The bottom line is that I really miss the taste of the previous sauce.
