Could more controls be done to prevent the oranges from going bad already in the branch? I buy them often but in almost every bag there are 1-2 to be thrown away unfortunately.
Hi SabiWalder, can you let us know what branch you usually shop at? Best regards, Your M-Infoline Team
Good morning, I usually go to Lugano Besso or Savosa. kind regards!
Thank you for informing us about the problem with the oranges. We immediately requested the branches to intensify their checks on the merchandise on display. Your M-Infoline team

Hello, is the peel suitable for consumption, or is it untreated? Kind regards, Migros-Chind456
Hello Migros, I've been looking in every Migros for weeks but can't find the blood oranges anywhere. Where can I buy them? (Kloten area). and why have they become so rare? Thanks in advance & best regards Meli
Hello meli741, thank you for your request. We are only starting with the blood oranges this week, as they are seasonal fruit. They are available from around mid-December to the end of March. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Last year I noticed that the quality of these blood oranges in the 2 kg net got much worse towards the end of the season (soft, we would say "powdery" to if not moldy, just before), so I stopped buying them. Now I bought some this season when they first came back, and the oranges were wonderfully firm, kept for a whole week without losing quality, brilliant. Just under two months later I bought them again, and half of them were already soft again, still fine (for me) for squeezing, but no fun to eat. What's more, they hardly last a week, one was soaked through after two days and was white and almost liquid at one point on the skin. I wouldn't care much more about green skin than this, if you know what I mean. Unfortunately, I didn't analyze the numbers on the label. What should I look out for, is there a clue? I don't like to spend ages squeezing all the fruit, and often the fruit only shows how quickly it deteriorates after a day. I would be interested to know if these oranges are all from a single harvest and how they are stored. And basically whether it's not just bad luck on my part, but whether it's real. Incidentally, it was the same with blonde oranges, the last net from a promotion. One day and all soft, I assume it was bad luck.
Hi astroG, sorry you had to wait so long for a reply from us. Due to the heavy rainfall throughout southern Europe (including Sicily), the late variety Sanguinello, a blood orange, was also affected. The blood orange, which already has a sensitive and thin skin, has a shorter shelf life due to the rainfall. As the problems with shelf life and quality have increased recently and there is much less produce available due to the rainfall, the blood orange season will end next week. Tarocco will still be available. Best regards, Your M-Infoline Team

Are also looking. Interestingly, the all-red oranges are distributed at the carnival parades - but where to buy them?

You're lucky that there are blood oranges at all - I haven't seen them anywhere in the Zurich cooperative yet :-(
Yes, so far this winter I've been looking in vain for blood oranges.
Hello guest
Migros stocks blood oranges every year. However, the season does not start until the middle/end of December. This week we are offering the 3 kilogram box as a special offer - at CHF 6.40 instead of CHF 9.20.
All the best for 2013 and best wishes

The blood oranges (extra blood oranges) that I can buy in Migros (Oensingen) often don't meet my expectations of blood oranges. Only a small part of the flesh is usually red in color. With blood oranges, I expect the flesh to be mostly red, otherwise they are only half-blood oranges for me.
Do I have the wrong idea about these oranges, or are there quality problems?

Guest
It has happened to me several times. :-( And some of the half-blood oranges are 99.9% light... But today I was lucky and my two blood oranges are really quite dark red (Moro).
We will be happy to forward you the answer from the responsible buyer in the Fruit & Vegetables department:
The fact that only a small part of the flesh of the blood oranges is colored red is due to the fact that the daily temperature differences (day and night temperatures) are not very large at the moment. These temperature differences cause the flesh to turn a beautiful red color. As a rule, the intensity of the coloration increases as the season progresses.
We hope this information will help you and wish you a good start to the new year. Your M-Infoline Team

The oranges have been harvested too early because the large retail chains are calling off the oranges and thus forcing the Sicilian buyers and processing companies into a supply squeeze. Where usually only very poor quality comes onto the EU market.
Since there are several blood oranges, the deliveries get mixed up with the times of ripening and again the housewives are disappointed by this noble fruit.
Dear guest
Thank you very much for your feedback.
We are very sorry that you are dissatisfied with the quality of our blood oranges. Of course, it is important to us to always offer very good quality in our stores. We try to guarantee this by setting clear requirements for our suppliers on the one hand and by carrying out strict checks on incoming goods on the other. However, we are aware that, in individual cases, poorer quality goods can sometimes be found in our stores. However, we are constantly working to prevent this as far as possible. We have forwarded your information to the relevant departments in Purchasing, our supplier and Quality Assurance.
In general, you can return products that you are not satisfied with to the relevant store.
We wish you a good week, your M-Infoline team
