Why can't I give my child a Black Forest gateau? Exactly - this cake has kirsch. You almost have to look for the fact that it contains alcohol on the packaging with a magnifying glass.

AND EXACTLY THAT!!! WE HAVE COMPLETELY DISAPPOINTED TODAY!!!!! My husband was always of the opinion that Micros sells ALCOHOL-FREE GOODS - including black forest gateau! Our little one was keen on this cake right from the start. We were 100%!!!! convinced that it didn't contain any alcohol, which the sales clerks confirmed when we asked! Today, a sales clerk at Micros in Wallisellen (Zurich) told us that this cake contains alcohol. In other words, our little boy ate a cake containing alcohol when he was just one year old!!!! That's what I call faking false facts and assault! At least the staff should be trained to answer you correctly and truthfully and the cake at the take-away stand in Micros doesn't say anything about ingredients!
According to the original recipe, the Black Forest gateau always contains kirsch. In Migros Aare, there is only one type of tart apart from the size. At Migros Neuchâtel-Fribourg, you can still choose between without cherry or without cherries.
During Gottlieb Duttweiler's lifetime, Migros already had alcoholic foods such as cherry tarts and chocolates in its range. This is and has always been correct, as Migros' basic principle of not selling alcoholic beverages is laid down in the contract with the cooperatives. Gottlieb Duttweiler only wanted to avoid encouraging the popular addiction to alcohol by virtue of his business principles of "low prices through low margins, etc.". He himself liked to smoke a cigar and also enjoyed a glass of wine.
Hello guest
We understand that the situation is upsetting you. Basically, it is as Istanbul has already written.
Our Black Forest gateaux, which we offer packaged in the store, are produced by JOWA. JOWA operates over 100 locations in all regions. There may be regional differences in terms of recipe, weight, alcohol, etc. As a rule, the Black Forest gateau contains kirsch according to the original recipe. Such a cake without kirsch may or may not be on offer.
We therefore recommend that you check the declaration on the label when buying in the store.
According to the provisions of Swiss food legislation, the addition of alcohol (in the form of wine, schnapps, etc.) must be declared in the list of ingredients. For foods and drinks that contain more than 0.5% alcohol by mass or volume, Migros will print the words "contains alcohol".
Kind regards from the M-Infoline team
