1 question
I bought these pears for the first time on 16.4. I don't eat any myself, but my husband loves pears very much. However, he always had diarrhea after eating these pears. I almost couldn't believe that this was the case. But he still ate the last pear last night. He thought maybe the others weren't ripe enough. But during the night he couldn't sleep because of "intestinal problems" and this morning he was a permanent guest on the toilet again!!! Are these pears somehow chemically treated or otherwise cultivated with special ingredients? Does anyone know, or has anyone had such problems after eating Abate Fetel pears?
Dear casalinga66
Thank you for contacting us.
We are sorry that your husband had health problems.
We have emailed you a checklist and would ask you to complete it and return it to us.
We look forward to receiving the list and hope that your husband is feeling better again.
Kind regards from the M-Infoline team
dear casalinga66,
i know the abate fetel pear very well. it's my favorite pear! i can imagine that your husband had "intestinal problems" after eating it, because this variety has a lot of fiber and potassium (dehydrating). and if you're not used to that, well, yes, it can overstrain the intestines. as a vegetarian and part-time vegan, i'm used to having to digest so much ^^
as for your assumption that the pears weren't ripe enough: on the contrary, the riper the pear, the more likely it is to go through... ;-)

@Kathrin
For me, the Abate Fetel pears only caused pain and a night spent on the toilet once, but it was very severe. This was when I was working as a troubleshooter for a car manufacturer in Germany and covered myself in varnish at the hotel reception. Dinner with a fine "Belle Hélène" dessert would have been better if it had never happened ;-)
"The fruit, an excellent ally of our health and good for the digestion with the glycyrrhizin in the patent vinegar, was responsible for this", I was told. :-/
Best regards
