Traceability must be guaranteed, but this is very difficult to implement in the case of wild harvesting. For this reason, the walnut trees are planted by the farmers in a controlled manner. In Moldova, however, there are no huge areas of monocultures as is perhaps known from other countries. It is therefore possible that conventional walnuts from Moldova come from wild harvesting.
