I only need one piece of tofu at a time. How long can I store the second piece in the refrigerator without it spoiling? 2-3 days or until the expiration date?
Hello LinsenFliege, It is generally difficult to specify shelf life for packages that have already been opened. Storing opened packages at refrigerator temperature is generally only considered safe for a few days (i.e., 2-3 days) and not until the end of the printed date. Therefore, the general recommendation is to consume opened products quickly. Tofu can also be frozen in suitable packaging (freezer bags, freezer-safe plastic containers). It will keep in the freezer for approx. 2-3 months. It is important that the expiration date has not passed at the time of freezing.
