How do you explain the price increase from 6.20 in 2022 to 8.90 today?
Hello aline127, Migros has always offered quality at reasonable prices. Nevertheless, it can happen that we have to increase prices. These can have various causes:
- Increases in the price of raw materials, packaging materials (especially paper and cardboard), general production costs
- For food: poor harvest (quality, quantity) -> increased demand, higher price
We compensate for normal exchange rate fluctuations and minor increases in raw material prices with a mixed calculation. However, if these costs rise steadily over a period of months or if procurement prices increase drastically, an adjustment is unavoidable. We often do not pass on the full price increase to the sales price. We assure you that we always examine such measures carefully and only take them if there is no other option. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Exactly, aline127, I noticed that enormously too, this mark-up of 2.70!!! and so this fish was taken off the shopping list.

Now, in January 2024, even increased to 9.50

Simply unbelievable. But, of course, the logical consequence of increased sales in 2023...., as a total Migros child, I'm going more and more to Aldi and Lidl

Hello aline127, thank you for your contribution. We can understand that it is a little irritating when prices are increased twice in a short space of time. The period of validity of the new prices depends in particular on the further price development of procurement and production, but it is clear that we will also reduce the prices for our customers again at the first opportunity. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Good day The salmon is very good, but I would like to see more transparency, i.e. I would like to know what the breeding process looks like on site, especially as fatty fish quickly absorb pollutants and deposit them in their fat.

Hello Sam, we are delighted that you like the organic smoked salmon. The organic salmon comes from a Scottish salmon farm and is produced under the Migros organic label in accordance with Naturland guidelines. In order to obtain organic certification, the following points must be met during farming: 1. the fishmeal for the feed must come from certified sustainable sources or from processing residues. In addition, no genetically modified feed may be used. 2. the surrounding waters must not be polluted. 3. the stocking density of 10 kg/m3 must not be exceeded for salmon 4. animal health is to be ensured primarily through preventive measures (e.g. optimal husbandry conditions, breeding, feeding). Natural remedies are preferable in the event of illness. 5. species-appropriate stunning and killing of animals. We hope that this answer has helped you and brought you a little closer to salmon farming. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

is super-fine, BUT: why is there no foil between the slices, and why are there mini pieces at the bottom of the package? Neither of which makes it easy to serve guests....

Dear guest
We are delighted that you like the salmon so much.
We cannot rule out smaller slices with smoked salmon. The natural shape of a salmon fillet becomes smaller towards the tail. The smaller slices are identical in taste to the larger slices. However, we agree with you - the smaller slices should not be smaller than the larger ones. It is important to us that our customers can clearly recognize which pieces they are buying. We will point this out to our supplier again.
Opinions differ greatly when it comes to the foils between the salmon slices. We have customers who want us to insert foil between the slices. But we have also received various complaints that the foil between the slices is ecological packaging nonsense. Especially with organic products, we would like to do without additional packaging material. We ask for your understanding.
We hope this has been helpful and wish you a good day. Your M-Infoline Team

I am absolutely AGAINST additional plastic... otherwise the organic label makes less and less sense, doesn't it? Thank you for the good explanations and hopefully good products.

Hello FunFlyer, thank you for your message. Sustainability is an important topic for us. In our company, a team of specialists deals with the reduction and optimization of packaging on a daily basis. Unfortunately, implementation is not always possible overnight. Product protection in particular presents us with a challenge here: on the one hand, the food should be packaged sufficiently to prevent premature spoilage. On the other hand, the amount of material should be kept as low as possible. These are two demands that are not easy to reconcile. However, we assure you that we are constantly checking the packaging formats and ask for your patience. Best regards, your M-Infoline team
