I would be very interested to know whether these nuts contain omega 3 fatty acids and if so, how much per 100g. Does anyone know?
Hi sigdeluxe
Thank you for your inquiry. Unfortunately, we cannot give you any information on the omega-3 fatty acid content of these hazelnut kernels, as this is not analyzed.
However, hazelnuts generally contain mainly monounsaturated fatty acids, in contrast to tree nuts, which contain many polyunsaturated fatty acids - especially the particularly valuable omega-3 fatty acids (linolenic acid). The following value can be found in the usual nutritional tables: 100g hazelnuts contain 109mg linolenic acid.
Best regards from the M-Infoline team
Walnuts take the top spot among nuts in terms of omega-3 fatty acids. 100 g of walnuts contain 6.8 g of linoleic acid. All other types of nuts have a linoleic acid concentration of less than 1 g/100 g - an exception here is the macadamia nut, which takes second place with 1.3 mg/100 g, but has only 1/5 of the linoleic acid content of walnuts.
