Hello, I would like to know if it is necessary to rinse the quinoa with cold water before cooking it to eliminate the saponin, or if it is not necessary. Thank you.
Hello Marc1, thank you very much for your request and your patience. Saponin is a plant component and is therefore also found in organic raw materials. Rinsing removes most of the bitter substances (saponins) from quinoa. Unwashed quinoa has a slightly bitter taste. In addition, children under 2 years of age should not eat unwashed quinoa. We hope you find this information useful. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Good afternoon. Why can't I find quinoa white from the region for the region online? The aha quinoa says gluten-free, but the quinoa from the region doesn't say that. Why not? And why does it say quinoa with three stars under ingredients? Greetings sam
Good morning @samIf by "here" you mean Migipedia; not all products are and will be listed there. aha quinoa is certified 100% gluten-free, so it is advertised. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ means: Organic and Fairtrade certified ingredients grown by organic and Fairtrade producers. Total content 100%. (It says so on the packaging) Best regards Frederica
Hello Sam, the quinoa from the region is not listed on the product portal as it is a regional product that is not available everywhere in Switzerland. We are happy to take on board the "gluten-free" claim and will look into implementing it. The asterisks next to the ingredients refer to the following sentence: *** Organic and Fairtrade certified ingredients and ingredients grown by organic and Fairtrade producers. www.maxhavelaar.ch. Can I buy quinoa, teff, amaranth or chia seeds in a Migro store?
Dear guest
Thank you for your interest.
You can find here:

Unfortunately, we do not stock teff and/or chia seeds.
We hope this helps you and wish you an enjoyable week. Your M-Infoline Team

Dear Migros,
My question is: whole rice is that whole grain rice or not?
Thank you for your answer

Hello guest
Quinoa is not rice. It is a gluten-free pseudocereal, similar to amaranth. Botanically related to spinach and turnips.
Greetings moz
Dear guest
I think there is a mix-up here :-). The Bio Max Havelaar quinoa is quinoa and not rice. You will find an answer to your question under Bio Natura brown rice.
Best wishes from the M-Infoline team

Dear Migros
We are a vegan family and love quinoa.
I couldn't find the country of origin anywhere. Where does the Migros quinoa come from?
I know that too much quinoa consumption here leads to an increase in the price in the country of origin.
Does Fairtrade do anything about this?
Kind regards
Regula
Dear guest
Thank you for your interest.
Max Havelaar has nothing to do with the pricing of a product. Rather, Max Havelaar sets standards for cultivation, social aspects, etc. As with any product, supply and demand regulate prices on the world market. At the moment, the price is relatively high because there is currently more demand than supply.
Both our quinoa (red and white) come from Bolivia.
We hope this helps you and wish you a good week. Your M-Infoline Team

Can this quinoa be sprouted? Not every processing allows this and unfortunately it is not stated on the packaging?
Hello guest
Thank you for your inquiry. Unfortunately, even the manufacturer could not give us any information on this, as he does not produce quinoa with a focus on germination.
Basically, the grains are harvested, dried, peeled, washed and dried again. They are dried with the help of heat. We assume that this has a negative effect on germination.
