Rinsing removes most of the bitter substances (saponins) from quinoa. Unwashed quinoa has a slightly bitter taste. In addition, children under 2 years of age should not eat unwashed quinoa. I think there is a mix-up here :-). The Bio Max Havelaar quinoa is quinoa and not rice. You will find an answer to your question under Bio Natura brown rice.

I couldn't find the country of origin anywhere. Where does the Migros quinoa come from?
I know that too much quinoa consumption here leads to an increase in the price in the country of origin.

Rather, Max Havelaar sets standards for cultivation, social aspects, etc. As with any product, supply and demand regulate prices on the world market. At the moment, the price is relatively high because there is currently more demand than supply.
Both our quinoa (red and white) come from Bolivia.

Thank you for your inquiry. Unfortunately, even the manufacturer could not give us any information on this, as he does not produce quinoa with a focus on germination.
Basically, the grains are harvested, dried, peeled, washed and dried again. They are dried with the help of heat. We assume that this has a negative effect on germination.
