I would like to know if there is a chicory-only alternative.

Good morning greta123, thank you for your question. We recommend the regular Cafino, which is composed of Robusta coffee and chicory. Kind regards, Your M-Infoline team

Hello, I am aware that Cafino Cereal contains gluten. I don't have coeliac disease, but I have a (mild) gluten intolerance as part of a chronic illness and have to eat a low gluten diet. My question: How high is the gluten content in a cup of Cafino Cereal? If this is difficult to answer, would a comparison also help me; e.g. 100g of the granules contain as much gluten as approx. .... bread or something? An "approximate value" would be completely sufficient for me. I really like drinking Cafino Cereal, the taste is great - but in order to work out whether and in what quantity I can continue to consume it, it is crucial to know whether the amount of gluten is negligible or so high that I will have to do without it in future. Thank you very much.

Hello K_J, unfortunately we cannot provide any information on the gluten content. As gluten-containing ingredients are used in this coffee substitute, the gluten content is not determined. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

I wanted to use Caffino cereal instead of normal coffee for climate protection reasons. Now I see that both have 2 stars in the M-Check. The alternative would taste surprisingly good.

Hello atleserin13, thank you for your inquiry. You are of course right with your observation. This product has 3 stars for climate compatibility. We will have this error corrected as soon as possible. However, it may take some time before you find the 3-star value on the packaging, as we will first use up all the packaging that has already been printed. Thank you for your attention. Where are the raw materials sourced? The packaging only refers to "foreign organic production". However, I would be interested to know exactly which countries they come from.

Hello KnuRa, the raw materials come from the following countries: Chicory (France), malted barley (Germany), wheat (Austria), figs (Turkey) and acorns (Turkey). Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Hello, does this coffee not contain any caffeine? That would be great!

Hello @Buergita Cafino is a so-called acorn coffee. Acorns in cereal without caffeine are used as flavorings because they have a coffee-like aroma. In the product information there is a NO for caffeine. best regards Frederica

Grüezi, could you please tell me - is there gluten in Caruso coffee?

We have forwarded your request to the nutrition department team, which will be happy to take care of your letter and provide you with an answer as soon as possible. Do you have any questions about your request? Then please contact us directly: Migros Genossenschafts-Bund Fachstelle Ernährung Postfach 8031 Zurich Your M-Infoline Team

Hello @MTI assume: Do you mean Cafino and not Caruso❓? Soluble organic coffee substitute extract, contains no coffee Ingredients: soluble extract (from chicory*, WHEAT 20%*, BARLEY malt*, figs*, acorns 5%*. *From foreign organic production "If a product contains gluten-containing ingredients, this must be openly declared, stating the gluten-containing cereals (wheat, spelt, rye, barley, etc.).Traces due to possible carry-over in the manufacturing process must be indicated at the end of the list of ingredients with a "may contain gluten" or "may contain traces of gluten". Spices are gluten-free by definition. Seasoning mixes may contain gluten, but this would then have to be declared (e.g. seasoning mix [with wheat starch])" Best regards Frederica

Dear Frederica, thank you very much for your answer and paraphrase. I meant Caruso coffee, I asked the question under the wrong picture. Best regards, Maja

Hello MT! Frederica's answer is great and actually contains everything you need to know. You can tell from the name that Cafino Cereal contains gluten-containing cereals, and in the list of ingredients you can clearly see that it contains both wheat and barley. Caruso, on the other hand, is pure coffee, which naturally contains no gluten and no traces of gluten are to be expected. So we wish you a good Caruso coffee break! is there gluten in it?

Dear customer,
We are delighted by your interest in Cafino Cereal.
The product contains ingredients containing gluten (such as wheat and barley). According to the Food Ordinance (more precisely, the FDHA Ordinance on the Labeling and Advertising of Foodstuffs), all major allergenic ingredients - including gluten-containing cereals such as wheat, rye, barley, oats, spelt and products derived therefrom - must always be declared!
On the following website, you'll find some interesting information about celiac disease: http: //www.migros.ch/fr/supermarche/marques-labels/aha-allergies-intolerances/bon-a-savoir/allergies-alimentaires/intolerance-gluten.html
We hope you find this useful, and wish you a good week.
Best regards Your M-Infoline team
