Beluga lentils change color when cooked. Are these lentils naturally black or are they dyed in the same way as black olives such as these?: https://www.migros.ch/en/product/156024800000
Hello andre009, thank you for your question. We can answer this with no, these Beluga lentils are not colored. The black dye that is naturally contained in the shells of beluga lentils is dissolved by the heat of the boiling water. This is the same effect as with black Venere rice, for example. We hope this information is helpful for you. Best regards, your M-Infoline team
Thank you very much!

Where do these Beluga lentils come from (which country or continent)?
Hello nilnil, Beluga lenses come from Canada. The country of origin is always printed on the packaging, under the date of minimum durability. Best regards, your M-Infoline team
