Dear Migipedia team, do you know whether the bifidus cultures are also propagated when you make your own yoghurt with natural bifidus yoghurt or are they added fresh each time during production?

Hello sauce junkie, thank you for your inquiry. We use freeze-dried yogurt cultures, which means that we prepare new ones each time. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

A number of customers (including myself) rate the quality of the lid, which tears every time it is opened, as poor. When will something finally be done about this?

Hello hertsch, thank you for your message. We can understand that it is annoying when the aluminum lids tear when the product is opened. According to consultation with the specialist department, this problem is caused by too high a sealing temperature and/or uneven sealing pressure when closing the lid. Various measures have already been taken to improve the tear resistance of the yoghurt lids. This has already significantly reduced the number of complaints. We assure you that we will continue to make efforts to improve the stability of the yogurt lids. The responsible department will of course be informed of your feedback. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

It says on the cup: 100g contain 0.1gr salt. 1 whole cup (150g) contains 0.2g salt. Huh?

Hello migae, the whole thing has to do with the general basic rounding rule, which states that values below 4 are rounded down and values above 5 are rounded up. A salary of 0.15 is rounded up to 0.2. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

🤔 Why are only 8 out of 10 Bifidus products discounted in this week's promotion? https://produkte.migros.ch/marken/bifidus 😲 Why were the 2 excluded? https://produkte.migros.ch/bifidus-probiotic-drink-multivitamin and https://produkte.migros.ch/bifidus-joghurt-drink-mokka

Hello rollimaus, according to our research, all 10 products have been integrated into our promotion. It is possible that the other two items were added late. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

The website says that Bifidus yogurt has 8 g of sugar per cup, but the cup says 5.6 g. Is the value on the cup the most up-to-date or am I misunderstanding something?

the entire pot has 8 g of sugar (no added sugar), per 100 g of yoghurt there are 5 g (see description below)

Um... on the cup it says 3.7 g per 100 g and 5.6 g per 150 g (i.e. one cup).

Then the information here is not correct.......... like so many .....

Hello Delfina, sorry for the late response. Due to technical problems, incorrect nutritional information is being displayed online. However, the information on the packaging is correct. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Where is the Bifdus vanilla????? Is the best vanilla yogurt!!!!! And without sugar!!!!!

Hello indios, thank you for your question. Unfortunately, we decided to remove Bifidus Yoghurt 0% Vanilla from our range during the last product revision. Perhaps the LC 1 vanilla yoghurt could be an alternative? If you are looking for an alternative without sugar, we will have to ask you to be patient. In April we will introduce a new product range without added sugar, your M-Infoline Team

Simply incomprehensible!!!!! And I didn't ask for an alternative!!!!

Why does a natural yogurt have to have 8 grams of sugar per cup? I buy Nature because I hope that it is Nature.

Hello signorinetta, thank you for your question. The 8g of sugar per cup or 5g of sugar per 100g are already naturally contained in the milk as lactose. We do not add any additional sugar. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Hello We eat a lot of Bifidus yogurts from Migros. Whether natural, mocha or the 4-pack of fruit Bifidus. But it's the same with all yogurts, because the lids usually don't open all at once. They usually tear through somewhere in the middle and you can use your fingers to pry the rest of the lid off, with yogurt on your fingers. Why don't you make the lids a little thicker, like the normal mocha yogurts? Best regards

Dear Stefu, thank you for your post. We are already aware of the problem and are working on a solution. However, we must ask you for a little patience. Kind regards, your M-Infoline team

The cup says "processed in Switzerland". Where do the raw materials come from?

Dear Giu, thank you for your question. Bifidus Classic is produced in Switzerland by Elsa (Estavayer) from Swiss raw materials. The raw materials (mainly milk) come from the Fribourg, Bern, Jura and Neuchâtel regions. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

I'd like to contact you to find out more about the composition of your "Bifidus Classic" product: a) what types of probiotics (living bacteria or yeast) are in your "Bifidus": please mention the number of species/strain and their full scientific names? b) what is the number (quantity) of living micro-organisms per gram? c) pasteurizing milk often destroys bacteria: do most of your probiotics survive pasteurization or not? Does pasteurization modify the biochemical and physical structure of your probiotics, making them less digestible and less effective? d) how long do these living probiotic cultures survive once the product has been manufactured: how long do they survive during the product's shelf-life and in the fridge at home? And what is the rate of reduction of live cultures after 5 days from manufacture to consumption? e) do the probiotics mentioned in a) above survive the initial phase of digestion: do they therefore reach the colon in large numbers, or are they destroyed as they pass through the stomach (gastric acidity and bile)? Thank you in advance. I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi dearsunshine33, Further to your various questions concerning the two products in our assortment, i.e. the Bifidus yogurt range and kefir, we'd like to send you the following answers: - What types of probiotics (bacteria or live yeast) are present in the product in question: please mention the number of species/strains and their full scientific names?
Yogurt Bifidus: the strain used is Bifidus lactis HN 019, and yogurt lactic ferments: streptococcus thermophilus/ lactobacillusdelbrueckli subsp. Bulgaricus. Kefir, mixed culture composed of kefir yeasts : Saccharomices kefir, Kefir candida, Kluveromyces marxianus and Saccharomyces cerevisiae, and lactic ferments such as Lactococcus lactis subsp, leuconostoc sp. Lactobacillus sp. Streptococcus thermophilus - What is the number (quantity) of live micro-organisms in the product under consideration per gram? Bifidus: yogurt ferment 10 million units/gr and > 10⁹de Bifidus lactis HN 019 /gr at the product's CSD Kefir: 1 mio yeast min. when delivered to the consumer - Pasteurizing milk often destroys bacteria: do most of your probiotics survive pasteurization or not? Does pasteurization alter the biochemical and physical structure of your probiotics, making them less digestible and less effective? The lactic ferments used in both Bifidus yogurts and Kefir are added to the milk after heat treatment (pasteurization). How long do these live probiotic cultures survive once the product has been manufactured: how long do they survive when the product is stored on your shelves or in the fridge at home? And what is the rate of reduction of live cultures after 5 days from manufacture to consumption? These products are regulated by an Ordinance on Foodstuffs of Animal Origin: Yogurt Bifidus: For kefir: - Do the probiotics mentioned under point a) above survive the initial phase of digestion: do they reach the colon in large numbers, or are they destroyed as they pass through the stomach (gastric acidity and bile)?
The health claim on the packaging of our Bifidus yogurts "Bifidobacterim lactis HN =19 helps normalize digestion by reducing transit time" has been approved and validated by the OSAV (Office de la sécurité alimentaire et des affaires vétérinaires). In the case of Kefir, the claim "healthy and aids digestion" on the packaging is not based on scientific evidence, but on the historical virtues attributed to fermented dairy products (yoghurts/kefir etc.). In the absence of scientific proof, and in order to comply with the new legislation (OEDAl), this claim will be removed from the next reprint of the packaging. - Would you advise me to use your "Kefir" or "Bifidus" product first, considering that the aim is to promote the balance of the intestinal flora, regulate digestion and strengthen the immune system? It's difficult for us to answer this question. Whether it's our yogurts, our Bifidus or our kefir, all these fermented milks are the result of the action of microorganisms. These microorganisms acidify the milk. These "useful" bacteria added to the milk after heat treatment are available to work on intestinal transit. Let's face it, it's not by eating a yogurt, Bifidus or Kefir every now and then that you'll benefit from the properties of fermented milks. Numerous studies have shown that regular consumption of fermented milk (yoghurt, Bifidus, Kefir) has positive effects on the "well-being" of consumers (see link below).
