Hello Migros Unfortunately, we have put the Bialetti in the dishwasher and now, even after washing it several times, there is an unknown "layer" that appears/smears off on a piece of kitchen paper (shimmering silver/black). Is this a layer of aluminum oxide or something similar that has come off because we put it in the washing machine and is it possibly harmful to health?
Hello cedu52, thank you for your message. Cleaning in the dishwasher has removed the top layer. This means that a larger amount of aluminum could be absorbed if it is used again. We are currently clarifying with the manufacturer whether this layer can be regenerated. However, we advise you not to use the machine at the moment. We will get back to you as soon as we know more.
