I haven't been able to find St. Gallen bread in any stores (Bern and Zurich) for about a month now. It would be great if it was added to the range again. I can't imagine that the demand was too low (perhaps too high?) Thank you very much.
It used to be our family's favorite bread, soft on the inside, great crust, almost better than a plait, unfortunately less and less available, but the trend is more and more towards "special" breads.
This bread is a timeless classic. It tastes good, is reasonably priced and not so hyperfancy. But Migros is increasingly opting for unnecessary, completely overpriced varieties. Fortunately, Aldi and Lidl still have normal varieties, so you can now buy the bread there too 🤷🏼♀️

When the bread range was revised, St. Gallerbrot was removed from the range due to the streamlining of the range. Of course, we understand that it is annoying when deletions affect your favorite product. However, it should be noted that no product is being removed from the range where customer demand would justify its retention. I've been missing St. Gallen bread on the shelves recently. Today I asked in the Filale why there was no St. Gallerbrot? Then I was told that we no longer have it.... Why? It was my favorite bread and still affordable. In the meantime, the bread rack is full of expensive specialty breads. Please bring back the St. Gallerbrot!

We have many customer groups with different needs. Our aim is always to offer the widest possible range of products in which each customer group can find their preferred products. Nevertheless, there has to be a certain demand for an item for it to be included in the range at all. We are aware that these decisions are disappointing for customers who liked to buy the discontinued items often. We assure you that we will examine such decisions carefully. One of Migros' tasks is to monitor market developments and react accordingly.
As an alternative, we recommend the Bernese bread, which, like the St. Gallen bread, is made from normal smoked flour.

The Bernerbrot is not an alternative... my alternative is to buy the St. Gallerbrot at Coop.

Why has the identical St. Gallerbrot cost CHF 2.60 in Eastern Switzerland for at least 5 years, but still costs CHF 2.00 in Zurich today? That is an unjustified price premium of 30%. I only buy the bread in Zurich now, even though I like it very much.
