Apart from the ban on single-use plastic items, such as plastic straws and plastic stirrers, beverage containers are also being targeted. The new EU requirement stipulates that the caps must remain attached to the bottles even when they are open. The Swiss authorities have not yet officially issued a corresponding regulation. However, our suppliers and partners have informed us that they will no longer produce non-compliant closures from the standard ranges of international manufacturers from the end of 2023. As we purchase our lids from them, we are forced to use these lids as well. However, we are aware that the quality of the current lids is not optimal.
