I have loved these Biberli since I was a child. I have now heard from a baker that a small amount of cherry brandy is added to a classic Biberli (dough and filling). Is this also in the Migros Appenzeller Biberli and perhaps not declared, as it is only a small amount?

Hello carduus, thank you for your question. There is no alcohol in our Biberli. Alcohol is always listed as an ingredient in the list of ingredients. Unless it is a product that naturally contains alcohol. According to the provisions of Swiss food legislation, the addition of alcohol in the form of wine, schnapps, etc. must always be declared in the list of ingredients. I love the Biberli, the large Biber was perfect for the whole family? Has it been taken out of the range? I've looked for it in several stores to no avail.

The expiry date is 16.09.2020. The taste is an intense nutty flavor that was not so intense for me and my husband before

The Biberli contains a relatively large amount of hazelnut paste. As nuts are a natural product, there may be occasional variations in taste. Has anything been changed in the filling? My husband absolutely loves these Biberli. For a few days now, he's been saying: "They're different somehow! The filling is different, more liquid..."
Is that true? Or is his impression misleading?

Otherwise, the Biberli are super tasty, ideal size, great taste, simply top!

We are grateful for your feedback regarding the filling. We immediately asked our in-house bakery JOWA.
The recipe for the Appenzeller Biberli has not been changed. However, it is possible that minor variations may occur in the production of the filling. It is also possible that the Biberli were still very fresh when you bought them. As a rule, the filling becomes firmer over time.
JOWA will now check future productions more strictly and avoid selling Biberli with a filling that is too liquid.
