I have now bought lettuce from Anna's (supposedly) Best for the third time in a month. Washed and ready to eat, my ass. Again and again I had a leaf with soil on the fork. And sometimes not just traces of soil. In my opinion, that's not good at all. Then I can just as easily buy a whole head of lettuce and wash it myself. Agreed, that can happen. But out of 3 bags, 3 bags were a disaster. At the moment I'm avoiding Anna's Best products because I'm angry. Once I had a visitor... I was ashamed! I am disappointed.

Hello fegger
Thank you for your message about our red lettuce from Anna's Best. We are sorry that the lettuce was not cleaned thoroughly enough.
We take your comment seriously and would like to follow up on it. For further clarification, our specialist department needs some information about the packaging. Please therefore provide us with the following numbers:
1. the M-date (date of sale and/or use by date)
2. the batch or lot number of the article in question
We can use these numbers to check when exactly the product in question was manufactured and whether any errors occurred during production at that time.
You will normally find the lot/batch number next to the best-before date, usually starting with the letter L or a mixture of letters and numbers.
Please understand that without this information we will not be able to clarify the issue and therefore cannot give you an answer.
We look forward to hearing from you and wish you a good day.
Best regards, Your M-Infoline Team

I bought this product at the Migros in Chêne-Bourg. It was supposed to be washed and ready to use. However, it was full of dirt and needed to be washed thoroughly before use. I didn't keep the packaging and have no references to give you. However, I bought another packet on August 27 at the Migros in Vésenaz to give it another try. This time the lettuce was less dirty, but still needed washing, as small pieces of dirt were stuck to the center at the base of the leaves. It had been packed on August 26 and the sell-by date was August 29. I'm not at all encouraged to try this product again. Perhaps the words "washed and ready to use" should be removed?

How are you?
We have received your reaction concerning the presence of soil in ready-to-use salads of the "Anna's BestPommée rouge" type purchased from Migros Genève branches.
Regarding your first purchase, we have no references enabling us to trace the product. For the second purchase, we have more precise information concerning the batch number. This data enables us to trace the product back to the supplier, to check the various stages of the process and the controls carried out. We found that all the complaints concerned raw materials from crops grown on the Orbe plain. The soil is very encrusting, settling in the interstices of the leaves and very difficult to extract.
In order to definitively eliminate the presence of soil in this type of product, we have developed new corrective actions, including the installation of a basin to wash and roughly extract the impurities trapped in the raw materials. We have also modified the residence times of semi-finished products in the washing basins to optimize the mixing of products in the water and promote decantation phenomena. Finally, we use double washing.
We have strengthened our specifications with our partners. Market garden producers are required to implement and comply with good production and hygiene practices. We have also reinforced the tasks of our reception department to ensure that controls are carried out efficiently.
We apologize again for any inconvenience caused. We are convinced that the measures we have developed internally will help to limit redundant non-conformities, and remain at your disposal for any further information you may require.
Best regards Your M-Infoline team
