I'm just going to use an Anna's Best salad, because this actually applies to all chopped leaf salads from Anna's Best. What do you wash the lettuce with? If you can smell the lettuce... I don't know. It doesn't smell good. I'm really a Migros kid, and I only buy a few things anywhere else. I thought for a long time that ready-cut lettuce just smelled like that until I came across Betty Bossi lettuce at Coop. It smells as fresh as if you'd just washed it yourself. There must be a trick behind it somewhere that you should adopt! Maybe you could send an informer to the Betty Bossi lettuce washing factory ;-)

Flawless quality is washed several times with water after being checked during the cutting and washing process to remove small parts such as soil. However, no additives are added to the water. The packaging also has no influence on the taste of the salad.
Depending on the composition of the individual raw materials, the lettuce can develop a stronger odor. Lamb's lettuce, for example, has a very strong odor of its own. It is also possible that the cold chain has been interrupted, resulting in a change in taste.
We recommend that you "air out" the lettuce in a bowl for a few minutes after opening.
