What a shame, another new healthy and practical product for that summer feeling, but not Fairtrade and not organic. Especially when it comes to (fresh) tropical fruit, I really wish Migros would finally offer Fairtrade! It might even cost more ;-). Kind regards, "Twilight"

Yes, take a leaf out of Coop's book!

Fairtrade is all well and good, but I would like to have a choice... like with bananas, for example. There are also people who can't afford fairtrade and/or always organic and are forced (in this example) to opt for the budget bananas... so I don't think it's a bad idea to offer the widest range of goods as a normal m-classic product to everyone first, you can always introduce other variations such as organic, fairtrade, etc.

@elchbaerli: That's true, but I find it questionable whether EVERYONE should be able to afford fruit from thousands of kilometers away for their daily needs(!). Wouldn't it be better to offer such "already (due to the long-distance transportation) environmentally damaging" products only in organic/fairtrade quality, which would make it a rather special thing? This way, people would not take such exotic products for granted, but as an exception, which is of course more expensive than regional Gala apples, for example. In this way, the environmental impact caused by the consumption of tropical/southern fruits could be reduced by tackling the cause (the demand for it/people willing to buy it).

Aren't conventional canned mangoes already available in bite-sized pieces? If not, that would be an idea: similar to Coop's pineapples, customers could then choose between normal mango (in a can) and fresh mango pieces of Fairtrade and organic quality.
