Why is palm oil used in this salad?

Hi Ivan, fats and oils are flavor carriers, hence the palm oil. I would have used olive oil, linseed oil or a fine nut oil, but that would probably have made it too expensive. I wonder why it contains maltodextrin. This is malt sugar and is often used as a fat substitute in low-calorie foods. It is also used as a carrier for vitamins, artificial flavors and to suppress unwanted flavors, so-called "off-flavors". If a corn salad needs maltodextrin, then I'd rather not try it, it's probably past its prime. Sometimes I lose my appetite when I read the small print on the packaging. Maybe I should patent this as a diet method. :-) Greetings Migi piglet
Hello ivan92 Thank you for your interest. The palm oil contained in the salad is only used to stabilize the color and comes from sustainable cultivation in Malaysia. However, we are already in the process of clarifying which oil we can use to replace the palm oil. As soon as we have found an oil with similar properties, we will replace the palm oil. I think these salads are very good. My entry here is therefore intended as a representative of all Anna's-Best salads, because I would like to agree with the previous criticisms regarding the new size and the lack of resealability!
I'm the kind of person who likes a salad at lunchtime, but the new portions are too big for me (female)! In itself this is not a problem, I would like to split it twice. However, as the foil is not resealable, I have to make do with a lot of adhesive tape...
I would like you to make the lid resealable if you are using foil. The new sizes are ok.

I don't know what's wrong with you all! I'm also female, watch what I eat and, God knows, I'm not a glutton and I'm very slim, but the new salad size is definitely not too big, I even have to eat one or two rolls with it to fill me up. The old sizes were a joke and also produced too much waste.

We have adjusted the sizes because we have heard more and more customer requests. Now you can enjoy a salad as a whole meal. We have also been able to reduce the price per 100g.
We have removed the lids from the ready-made salads for ecological reasons in order to do our bit to reduce the mountain of waste and save resources. By omitting the lids, we can save over 52,000 kg of packaging material per year.

I think it is a great pity that you have increased the portions of these salads.
The portion is far too big. The fact that you can't reseal the packet wouldn't have been a problem with the small portions, but with such large portions you're almost forced to throw away the rest when you're out and about. What is also quite disappointing is that you have taken the quinoa salad from Anna's Best out of the range (maybe only at MM-Wiedikon?). It was really great!
Many of my friends agree with me here.
Hopefully you will reconsider the large portions :)

We are sorry that you are not satisfied with our new ready-made salad range.
With the new salad sizes, we have adapted to customer demand for larger portions - so a salad can be enjoyed as a whole meal. The prices have also been reduced to the 100g price and we can therefore offer our customers an even better price/performance ratio. We have removed the lid for ecological reasons in order to make our contribution to reducing the mountain of waste and to save resources. Of course, we will continue to monitor the range and adjust it if necessary.
There was not enough demand for the quinoa salad, so unfortunately we had to discontinue this item. We can understand your disappointment. It is particularly annoying when a favorite Migros product is no longer available on the shelves.

I find it interesting that the new packaging now contains 300g. There is an M-Budget product of potato salad, this pack contains 525g and one portion is marked as 200g.
So the budget salad fills you up quicker ;-)

I also think it's a shame that these salads are only offered in such large portions. At lunchtime, 300 grams is simply too much, you should eat a balanced diet and have some bread and fruit for dessert with your salad. With this size of salad that is no longer possible and that is why I have never bought such a salad at Migros. The big competitor with the C still has this size.... and if you're already at the competitor, you buy the rest there too.
I hope this planning error will be corrected soon?

The corn salad, as well as the other vegetable salads, are now available again in the 250g bowl. The organic vegetable salads have been reduced to 200g.

I find the increase in portion size quite bad. The fact that you can no longer close the packaging is completely contradictory. Many people eat these salads for lunch. The portion is too big for one person, but when you're out and about you can't close it again to eat it later.

We have increased the quantity so that it can now be enjoyed as a whole meal. We were also able to achieve a price reduction per 100g and thus offer you a better price/performance ratio.
We have omitted the lid for ecological reasons, as this allows us to save 52,000 kg of packaging material per year. However, if we receive more customer feedback in this regard, we will look into this again.
