Hi jamjam81, thank you very much for your post. We agree with you on this point—the ingredient list does seem long at first glance and, in some cases, quite technical. The main reason for this is that, for an industrially manufactured product, we’re required to list not only the basic ingredients—such as dough, quark, and lemon—but also all components of compound ingredients, as well as processing aids and additives that we use to ensure quality, shelf life, texture, and flavor. As a result, something that looks simple and was made with a lot of handwork quickly appears much more complex on the packaging. Many of the “complicated”-sounding terms actually serve a fairly unspectacular purpose: for example, they ensure that the filling stays creamy, the dough has the desired texture, the product remains stable, and it has a fresh lemon flavor. We’ve since made an adjustment to the recipe. This will shorten the ingredient list somewhat, but unfortunately, it still won’t be very short. We’ve taken your feedback to heart. Because in addition to taste, many customers also find it important that the ingredient list is as easy to understand as possible. Best regards, your M-Infoline Team
