In previous comments you say the juice is pasteurized but I can't see this information written in the package. Can you please confirm it? If it is the case I would like to know more about the pasteurization process like the temperature and duration. My final question would be if live cultures are added back to the product after pasteurization so the person who drinks it actually can benefit from it at all?

Hello Rhyn, thank you for your query. Like all other Alnatura juices, the Alnatura sauerkraut juice is pasteurized in its tetra pack. This deactivates the lactic acid bacteria. Without pasteurization, the pack would expand and burst. However, the lactic acid that has formed is preserved in the product. With regard to the deactivated lactic acid bacteria, the Alnatura sauerkraut juice cannot be compared to non-pasteurized sauerkraut juice. Alnatura cannot make a statement about the effect on the intestinal flora because the product and its effects have not yet been studied. Kind regards,

dein M-Infoline Team

Hello I would be interested to know whether the lactic acid bacteria used for production are preserved, i.e. are still "alive". Kind regards

Thank you for your interest, NCG. The Alnatura sauerkraut juice is pasteurized to preserve it. If the lactic acid bacteria are not inactivated, the pack would eventually burst. One advantage of lactic acid fermented products is that they are easier to digest. The lactic acid that has already been produced remains in the juice. Best regards, your M-Infoline team
