Is this linseed oil packaged in a protective atmosphere? I see it is on the shelf unrefrigerated.

Hello paulflang, Alnatura linseed oil is pressed without the addition of heat. We cannot rule out 100% contact with air and light during pressing, but it is reduced to the minimum possible contact. The oil is pressed in a screw press, which itself cannot be penetrated by light. The oil is collected in light-protected containers and stored in a protective atmosphere in the absence of light. The contact with light and oxygen is therefore very low and the linseed oil produced is very stable against oxidation. This stability and shelf life has also been confirmed by storage tests. Filling in a protective atmosphere in dark bottles also contributes to the stability of the oil. During transportation, the bottles are also protected from further exposure to light by the outer carton.

Before opening, the linseed oil is well protected from external influences by the packaging, so that the unopened bottles do not need to be stored in the refrigerator. Once opened, Alnatura linseed oil is best kept in the fridge and consumed as quickly as possible. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

hello how many g omega 6 does it have? merci

Hello carlos1977, the content of omega-6 fatty acids in Alnatura linseed oil has not been analyzed. In general, however, it can be said that about one fifth of the polyunsaturated fatty acids in linseed oil are omega-6 fatty acids and the remaining four fifths are omega-3 fatty acids. Linseed oil is therefore characterized above all by a high content of omega-3 fatty acids. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Since storing this linseed oil in the refrigerator is not recommended or suggested, I wonder whether it really only contains 100% linseed oil or whether it also contains one or two other additives.

Storage instructions: Protect from heat and direct sunlight and store in a cool place after opening.

Thanks @Frederica, I hadn't seen that. But I still have some concerns, because in my experience pure linseed oil is always in the fridge in health food shops. On the other hand, I assume that preservatives should be indicated on the label.

Hello miclou, thank you very much for your post. As @Frederica correctly writes, the oil should be protected from heat and direct sunlight and stored in a cool place after opening. If there are other ingredients in addition to the actual product, we are obliged to declare these on the label. The product consists of 100% linseed oil. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Could this product be moved to the "Vinegar & Oils" category?

Hoi ivan92 It is not yet technically possible to list these Alnatura products under "Vinegar & Oils". They therefore appear under "Pasta, ingredients & preserves". However, we very much appreciate your comment and will take note of it. Kind regards from your M-Infoline team
