Hello Are the frozen blueberries pre-washed or do they have to be washed? There are warnings everywhere about processing frozen berries directly because of viruses, noroviruses, etc. As I usually mix the berries directly frozen into the smoothie, I would need to know how best to proceed. Thank you very much.
Hello tg1990, the blueberries are lightly sprayed or rinsed with cold water after harvesting to remove any dirt or foreign bodies from them before freezing. The fruit is frozen at temperatures of -18.0°C.
Possible germs can be found on all raw foods. To be really sure, the berries can be boiled before consumption (at least 60°C). Best regards, your M-Infoline team

I don't understand how blueberries can be wild and organic at the same time? Either they grow wild (superior quality), or it's organic or not.
Hello, thank you for your request. Alnatura bilberries are wild blueberries from certified organic wild harvesting. They are grown on plantations. Best regards, your M-Infoline team
Hello, I don't understand this answer. Wild spooning in a plantation?
Hello JSOA, thank you for your feedback. Most wild plants are not suitable for cultivation on arable or horticultural land. This is mainly because the plant material is generally very heterogeneous and has not been worked for cultivation. The rules governing wild harvesting derive from the protective provisions of the authority issuing the harvesting permit, as well as from the directives of the buyers. The harvesting permit specifies, for example, the period during which a particular quantity may be harvested, and how the harvest is to be carried out from a technical point of view. In addition to the nature conservation laws of the country in question, the EU Organic Farming Regulation applies to organic wildcrafters. In addition, some organic farming associations have formulated additional requirements in their guidelines. Naturland, for example, requires regular residue analyses. In addition to non-ecospecific information on the harvesting area, harvesting authorization, correct marking, exact harvesting sequence, possible intermediate stages up to sale, and on-site monitoring of harvesting areas and species populations, verification of the sustainability of harvesting is also a decisive factor for organic certification: Thus, according to the EU Organic Farming Regulation, picking must not threaten ecological stability or the preservation of species in the picking area. In addition, it must be guaranteed that the areas to be harvested have not been treated with products not authorized for organic farming three years prior to harvesting. Yours sincerely, the M-Infoline team

Good morning hispanita The FDHA Ordinance on the Labeling and Advertising of Foodstuffs, Chapter 2, Section 7, Art. 15, states:If a foodstuff cannot be assigned to a specific country of production or if the country from which the raw materials or ingredients originate cannot be clearly determined, the smallest geographical area from which the foodstuff, the raw materials or the ingredients originate must be indicated (e.g. "lettuce from the European Union", "fish from the Baltic Sea").Best regards Frederica
Where do the blueberries come from? Which country of origin? The packaging only says EU agriculture and "Made in Germany" DE-ÖKO-044. Thank you very much.
Hello hispanita, the Alnatura blueberries are wild blueberries from certified organic wild collection. The wild blueberries currently come from Lithuania. However, depending on availability, blueberries from other origins (Poland, Germany) can also be used. Frederica: Thank you for your explanation, we have nothing more to add. Best regards, your M-Infoline team
