Good morning carlos1977 Peanut butter can be stored in the kitchen cupboard at room temperature as well as in a refrigerator. Once opened, it should be stored in the refrigerator so that the fat it contains does not spoil. Avoid exposure to oxygen, as this causes the peanut butter to spoil and become unhealthy (aflatoxins). When stored in the fridge, a layer of oil will separate from the already very dense mixture if it is left for a long time. Many factors are responsible for the shelf life, which cannot be influenced during production. Storage and storage temperature play an important role. Once opened, Alnatura peanut butter can be stored in the kitchen cupboard at room temperature or in the fridge. The consistency can become somewhat firmer in the fridge. In general, it is important for the shelf life that you always remove the peanut butter with a clean spoon and leave the layer of oil that forms on the butter. The oil protects against atmospheric oxygen and is simply stirred in before eating. In our experience, Alnatura peanut butter can still be enjoyed and eaten several months after opening if handled and stored properly. Irrespective of the best-before date, you should always check carefully with all your senses before eating to see if there is any discernible change (e.g. mould, different smell and taste).
