Is this oil also suitable for frying? As I live alone, the portion would be just right. Unfortunately, I've already had to throw away a lot of oil because 50cl is already too much for me.
Hello Sansibunny, due toits fatty acid composition, Alnatura cooking oil should not be used for searing/short frying or deep-frying (the more unsaturated fatty acids an oil contains, the more sensitive and faster it reacts to atmospheric oxygen and heating). We recommend the oil for cold cooking or for adding to dishes after cooking. However, the oil can also be used for gentle heating, steaming or baking, as temperatures of 100°C are not normally exceeded in the food during these types of preparation. The same applies to Alnatura rapeseed oil. It is advisable to have two different oils to hand in the kitchen: a high-quality oil that is preferably used for cold dishes, but can also be used for cooking, steaming and baking, and a heat-stable oil that is suitable for frying or deep-frying (e.g. HOLL rapeseed oil).e.g. HOLL rapeseed oil, peanut oil or coconut oil, frying butter etc.).

Why is the product only available in very few Migros stores?
Hi migrokiko, thank you for your inquiry. We are sorry that you are missing your cherished product in your store. We have indeed reclassified the item due to low demand. It's about the branches in Sierre
Hi migrokiko, thank you very much for your feedback. We will be happy to check availability for you. The nearest stores with stock are in Sion (Métropole) and Conthey (Forum des Alpes). We are aware that these supermarkets are a little further away. We are sorry not to be able to tell you anything more positive. We hope for your understanding. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

How much erucic acid does it contain?
Hello Dimitris, thank you for your inquiry. According to consultation with the specialist agency, Alnatura rapeseed oil is made from rapeseed that is free from erucic acid. We hope this information is helpful for you. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Rapeseed oil for babies? So not for adults? I only came across this product because of the 250 ml size. Why does Migros only have rapeseed oil in 250 ml for babies?
Hello Civitas, thank you for your question. Alnatura rapeseed oil is generally used to prepare baby food. Infant and toddler foods are subject to particularly strict regulations regarding composition, use of additives, microbiological properties and labeling.
Compared to normal foods, such as Alnatura rapeseed oil virgin, the maximum levels for pesticides, nitrate and other harmful substances and contaminants (e.g. mycotoxins, acrylamide) are significantly lower for infant and toddler foods. This is extensively monitored and documented, which increases the manufacturing costs for the product. In addition, we test the ingredients, in particular vitamins, minerals and trace elements, on a random basis. There are statutory minimum and maximum levels for the individual parameters. what is the difference between "normal" Alnatura rapeseed oil item number 103335800000 and this baby rapeseed oil variant here? the nutritional values are the same except for a few calories. the price is clearly very different, but that is not the subject of my question. the taste seems milder in the baby variant, but that doesn't matter to me, I like the normal one.
what's important to me: the normal product explicitly says "from first, cold pressing", what about this baby version here? how was the taste "made milder"? actually, I'm more interested in this product here (250ml) than the normal one, which I no longer buy... BECAUSE OF THE SIZE, 500ml. as i need several oils at the same time - besides olive oil which is used more often (500ml) i also use about 1 tsp of hemp oil + linseed oil daily, both of which are sold in handy 250ml bottles, 1x 250ml bottle lasts for about 1 month or a bit more, and stays fresher that way, even if i keep them all in the fridge.
Hello maoow, thank you for your inquiry. Alnatura rapeseed oil (for preparing baby food) and Alnatura virgin rapeseed oil are cold-pressed, virgin oils. Infant and toddler foods, which are classified as dietary foods, are subject to particularly strict regulations regarding composition, use of additives, microbiological properties and labeling. Compared to foods for general consumption (such as Alnatura virgin rapeseed oil), the maximum levels for pesticides, nitrate and other harmful substances and contaminants (e.g. mycotoxins, acrylamide) are significantly lower for infant and toddler foods (which include Alnatura rapeseed oil for supplementary food preparation). This is extensively monitored and documented, which increases the production costs for the product. Checking the sensory and especially the microbiological properties plays a major role, as very strict hygiene standards must be adhered to. In addition, the ingredients, in particular vitamins, minerals and trace elements, are tested on a random basis. There are statutory minimum and maximum levels for the individual parameters. Alnatura rapeseed oil for the preparation of complementary foods can also be used for gentle heating, steaming or baking. Best regards, your M-Infoline team
