Instead, the 10 regional cooperatives are largely autonomous and the Federation of Migros Cooperatives merely acts as a service and coordination center, for example for central purchasing. For example, we stock certain products, especially daily necessities, in all cooperatives, but others on an optional basis only in individual cooperatives. In addition, the individual cooperatives purchase products - especially fresh produce - independently on a regional basis, which they sell in their own store network.
