Why are Jäzz apples no longer available, as up to now these apples from New Zealand and Switzerland have almost seamlessly replaced each other? Two weeks ago (8.8.) I was told in Migros Wetzikon that the delivery from the new harvest would arrive on Monday 11.8. But even today these apples are still not available. Why? When will they finally be back? Thanks for an answer.
Hello guest We are very pleased that you like the Jazz apples. Jazz apples are a late variety of apple. These fruits are still growing on the trees and can be harvested around the beginning of October. After harvesting, the Jazz apples still have to ripen to develop their full flavor. This apple variety will be available in our Migros sales outlets in the Zurich region from November. At the moment we are offering the early varieties Gravensteiner, Summerred, Ambassy and Gala apples. The autumn varieties Elstar will be available from calendar week 36 and the Rubens and Cox Orange from around mid-September. We hope that this information is helpful and look forward to your next visit to one of our supermarkets. Best regards from the M-Infoline team

Everything tastes great. But with almost all fruit in general, I'm annoyed by the sticky bits that stick to EVERY SINGLE APPLE. Do they have to be?
In the program "Espresso-Aha" from July 22, 2013, the answer to the question: "Why are there such annoying stickers on apples?" was, "The apple producers want to distinguish themselves from their competitors".

Dear guest
Thank you very much for your contribution. It's great that you are one of our valued customers.
As you have correctly noted, more and more fruit and vegetables have been labeled with stickers in recent years. This trend seems to be gaining ground worldwide, but not always to the satisfaction of consumers. We have already intervened several times with the relevant organizations, but have been unable to bring about a change in practice. The fact is that labeling the product with the brand or variety name is desired by most retailers in Europe. Switzerland - or Migros - simply does not have enough influence to change what is happening in the retail trade in Europe.
We would also like to draw your attention to the following points:
- The majority of stickers are attached to imported apples. These are not only imported into Switzerland, where Migros would have more of a say, but also into other countries, which generate significantly higher sales.
- The stickers also serve as a seal of quality for many customers and prevent them from being mixed up with other goods.
- From a marketing point of view, of course, these stickers generate attention. In addition, such stickers are naturally a good advertising medium for the brand/variety in question. Otherwise, with natural products such as apples, it is very difficult to differentiate between the different varieties.
- So that our staff can also recognize whether the correct apple variety has been weighed when paying at the checkout
- Incidentally, the adhesive used for the labels is biodegradable and food-safe - so there is no risk to consumers.
We hope that we have helped you with this answer and will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
